With around 30 years experience of training people and working in conservation with trees and green wood work, you will be sure to learn more than just the basics of spoon carving and whittling. Having learnt the professional and safe carving techniques from some of the best out there, I will pass on these skills so that you can also carve safely and with confidence at home, or improve on your technique.
"Our 6-year-old loved this class! Alan was wonderful at adjusting the class to meet our son's ability and interest. He came home so proud of himself with the butter knife he'd made (along with some other neat things) and asking to go back for another class. Highly recommend!"
"We had a marvellous time at a private whittling course with Alan. He is so kind and knowledgeable. Our grandsons (aged 7 and 9) absolutely loved it. Great value. We were all delighted with our butter spreaders and felt we’d acquired excellent basic skills. "
"I had a great afternoon carving my first spoon with Alan. It was at a good pace, and he was really supportive and helpful. The whole atmosphere was very relaxed and welcoming. I'd recommend this experience to anyone else who would like to create something or try a new skill. "
