Dominic Manley reviewed: ColourWheel art classes for adults - Maidenhead - Thursday

"I have been attending this course for many years, so I can certainly recommend it. Returners are welcome - the media repeat but the exercises change. Rene does an excellent job of organising the course and along with teacher Inge, makes everyone feel most welcome. The atmosphere is very friendly and I have made many friends over the years. The venue is super with great parking and access. I use a wheelchair and it is very well set up for wheelchair users. Each week's class includes comprehensive notes sent by email beforehand, which one can read or not. It doesn't matter because Inge talks the class through the exercises and does demonstrations at key points. It is a relaxed and comfortable learning environment!"

"Just finished my third workshop with Jo and tremendous help and support from Andy. This time created 3 ladies to stand outside. Wonderful 2 days, learnt more new technics and am thrilled with results. Many thanks and will see you again."

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Sally! Really enjoyed seeing you back in the studio and your three gorgeous ladies are still there gradually drying out. My sister who lives abroad 'face timed' today and I showed them to her - she loved them and asked me to do a remote workshop via zoom so she can create similar sculptures! They will look amazing on the tree stump you have in your garden. What will you think of next ...... ! Jo x"

Maureen Pearman reviewed: Beginners half-day pairs pottery / ceramics workshop

"My partner and I had a great afternoon with Louise, in a relaxed, friendly and informative setting. The tuition was fun, through gentle encouragement and exploration. We were introduced to the tools and shown the techniques as we went along and encouraged to have a go. Louise kindly provided timely breaks for refreshment and we were able to chat and ask questions about the art of pottery and ceramic making. We feel that we achieved a great deal in our three hours. The only thing we really wished we could have spent more time on was the pottery wheel which required greater skill and practice than we could muster. Thank you Louise for a really enjoyable creative taster afternoon."

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Thank you for your lovely review Maureen. It was a delight having you and John in the studio and I'm really pleased that you came away feeling that you'd achieved a lot within your half-day workshop :-). Yes, the wheel takes some getting used to! Happy to arrange a half-day throwing workshop if you fancy having longer on the wheel."

Angie Weston reviewed: Sculpture workshop two days with Jo Garden Art in beautiful rural Norfolk/Suffolk border setting

"What a wonderful way to spend two days! Having recently completed my 'leaping hare' under Jo's expert tuition, I can highly recommend this course to anyone thinking of having a go at this type of sculpting. Jo is such a professional, patient and fun tutor that I felt at home within minutes of arriving, despite being a complete novice. Andy, Jo's husband was the welder for our pre-prepared armatures, so together they make a great team. I was amazed that after just two days, I could produce something so beautiful and which has been much admired by friends and family. Just looking at him (definitely a 'him') makes me smile. Thank you Jo, I will be back next year!"

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Angie! Andy's armatures are a piece of art in themselves ;-) So glad you felt at ease - I appreciate how out of depth people must feel when first arriving. I just love how the hares in particular evolve personalities and so happy he makes you smile! Jo x"

Deborah Tissiman reviewed: Basket making for beginners using traditional willow basketry techniques

"What a fab day... Jon and Becky have endless patience... It's hard work and a full-on day. but from the offset, Jon made you feel confident, that you were going to accomplish making your basket. Very relaxed atmosphere, good banter. Jon chatted throughout the day telling us about basket making in general, as we worked, which was more interesting than being given a chapter and verse hour which generally flies over your head. One to one help, when you needed it, Becky and Jon explained what to do simply, and we were allowed to go at our own pace. Becky's flapjacks and cake were delicious... Make sure you book the lunch or you will definitely miss out on a treat. I really recommend this course as an introduction to basket making, you'll come away with a super basket to be proud of."

Basket Making Malvern responded:

"Thank you Debbie, we both really enjoyed meeting you and your basket was beautifully woven. Thank you so much for coming to spend the day with us weaving baskets."

Jo’s friendly approach and professional tutoring made this experience so accessible and enjoyable that I booked another workshop shortly afterwards. The setting for the course is beautiful, Jo and Andy are super helpful and welcoming. The outcome from both 2-day courses was magical: just like my first sculpture which I’ve called magic man. Would give this course a 10/10 ?? and highly recommend it to anyone."
