Helen Henderson reviewed: Weaving: the journey begins

"Excellent course - there is good reason why Ashleigh has so many excellent reviews. This course in my opinion is beyond excellent value! I have had a wonderful day learning about weaving, have walked away with a good amount of weaving, shown and tried several different techniques, and had refreshments as I went along. From someone that had done no weaving previously and little experience of similar crafts - I cannot recommend this course enough. Ashleigh teaches from his studio which is nested within a craft shop so there are others around but it is one to one teaching. He gives plenty of space for you to practice, dropping back into the studio area to help patiently guide you and show you new skills. "

Maisie reviewed: Spoon carving taster session

"Myself and a friend had a brilliant time on this spoon carving taster session. Dave is a great teacher; knowledgeable, patient and enjoyable company! No matter what your experience, you will leave not only with your very own cooking spoon, but the knowledge of how to make more as Dave explains and takes you through the whole process, giving useful tips and things to be looking for along the way. An extremely reasonably priced session for all that we got out of it. The hours simply flew by in his wonderful, well-equipped workshop. We were able to get there easily by bus from York train station so no need to have access to a car to get there either. I can't recommend this enough for anybody wanting to try their hand at spoon carving or just have a fun and different day out. Dave is a craftsman worth supporting! "

Woodwyrm responded:

"Many thanks Maisie, It was my pleasure. All the best and happy carving."

Ann reviewed: Stained glass one day

"It was a fantastic day never made stained glass window before and at the end of the day I had my first one finished, bar the cementing which Nina did and I collected a few days later. Nina’s patience, knowledge, teaching ability and hospitality made the day so enjoyable, time flew!"

"A pleasure to teach you Ann. A fantastic day had by all. "

Bontle reviewed: Dotted Mandala Workshop

"Had an incredible experience combining experimenting with a beautiful new art form, experiencing a different form of mindfulness, and learning about the historical and cultural context of the art from a wonderful teacher. Would recommend to anyone who is able to grip a pen. You need zero skills and zero experience in anything artistic to do it and you can have an awesome time even if you go alone, like I did. And don't stress about making mistakes - Kavita is a great teacher who is super patient but also able to fix whatever goes wrong so that you can't even see your "errors" at the end. You just end up with an incredible work of art. It took me 6.5 hours and I was apparently fast so be prepared to be there 8 hours - snacks are a must! "

Sarah J reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"Really fantastic day with Jo and Andy. Wasn’t sure how well I’d get on with making my hare but with Jo’s patient guidance and clear explanation, I ended up with a sculpture I’m really proud of! Jo doesn’t stint on materials and generously provided a little touch-up kit to bring home, which was fab. I’d thoroughly recommend the course and am planning on coming back with other friends soon! Thanks Jo - I loved it!"

Anne Betteridge reviewed: Polytunnel grow your own: productive, organic, year round food growing

"Loved the course and learned lots about what I can grow in my polytunnel. Kim was really keen to make sure each of the attendees had their questions answered and she carefully tailored the day to suit us all. She packed a lot in and wanted to make sure that we found growing our own produce as efficient and as fun as possible. I will go on from here with renewed vigour but much less overwhelm! (She was also kind enough to make sure my dietary restrictions were dealt with.)"

Green Rocket Courses responded:

"Thank you Anne. That is great to hear you so enjoyed. It was lovely to meet. xx Kim "

Anne Patmore reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"Jo is amazing tutor (and I say that as an ex trainer myself!!). She is warm, friendly, informative and helpful. The studio is bright and airy and set in her lovely garden. She really does think of everything - even take home packs with information so you don't need to worry about taking notes on the day and can concentrate on 'hands-on' enjoyment. I had no experience of this craft and did not expect to achieve much - mainly booked for the fun and interest - but came away with a lovely hare that I am very proud of (and surprised by!). Lots of help and refreshments during the day and even two lovely cuddly dogs if you feel inclined to fuss furry friends! We can't wait to go back and take friends and family to future courses. "

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Anne - I very much appreciate your heart warming words about how I run the workshop. It's a pleasure having 'work' that brings enjoyment to others and is also such fun for myself. Looking forward to seeing you and your friends & family back in the studio. Jo xx"

Deirdre Tahany reviewed: Textile landscape workshop in Dorset

"A wonderful workshop with an inspirational artist. It was an awful day and we got a little lost. I rang Imogen who stood outside in the wind and rain directing us to The Old Forge. Her studio, in sharp contrast, was warm and cosy. Inspirational textile landscapes and still life compositions covered the walls. I am an indecisive ditherer which can be infuriating however Imogen remained positive and encouraging throughout. The day flew by and although my textile landscape is not finished, thanks to Imogen, I have a selection of fabrics and a clear vision. A 2 day workshop would have been wonderful! Completely forgot to mention the delicious Victoria Sandwich cake that Imogen baked. I would have no hesitation in recommending this workshop."

Imogen Bittner Studio responded:

"Thank you so much for that lovely review! The studio is always cosier in bad weather! I am really pleased you enjoyed the day and feel sure that you have the necessary skills to develop and continue your own work and to have a lot of fun hunting out fabrics in charity shops! I would love to see your finished piece- almost there but the final tweaks are always the most exciting to make. Thank you again for coming so far and making the day so enjoyable."

Lizzie Ward reviewed: Introduction to Lino Printing in Cambridgeshire

"Hmmm! What a treat to step out of a fast-paced life and into an oasis of creative calm with Judith at her kitchen-studio. Judith welcomed me into her home as an old friend and by the end of our Lino cutting day I felt as though I'd achieved something rather beautiful and enjoyed sparky conversation with the other participants on the course. I feel equipped with new tips and skills to have a go doing more at home and would definitely love to do another course with Judith. A great way to 'escape' without having to go far. "

print paper stitch experiences responded:

"Thank you for contributing to such a fun and buzzy day Lizzie. Your beautiful prints, and the ideas behind them, let us all escape momentarily to another place!"
