It’s only Natural - create tiny wire sculpture in Hampshire.

We’ll create hanging decorations.

Designs inspired by wild flowers and grasses.

You’ll create a wire button hole and a posy of wire flowers.

If time allows, we can make tiny wire trees.

The venue for our workshop is a C18th thatched barn.

The Long Barn

The roof structure is stunning.

The Long Barn is a great space for larger groups.

Description

Fine and flexible wire is a lovely material to work with, enabling you to create characterful objects, with a drawn-like quality to them. Come along on Thursday 16th March and learn how to create a range of small and decorative pieces of sculpture, which will take pride of place in your home and be admired by many. We will aim to create 3 beautiful outcomes, exploring joining techniques, shaping and sculpting wire, inspired by wild flowers and grasses. Who wouldn't want to create beautiful wire pieces? This workshop will suit those with experience in different creative processes and techniques. We will be joined by artist and maker Liz Wellby, who lives and works on the edge of the Peak District in Derbyshire. With a background in sculpture and over 25 years of experience teaching and tutoring, Liz will guide and support you throughout the workshop. The workshop will be held in our beautiful thatched barn on a working farm at Meon Springs. This is an inspirational and spacious venue in The South Downs National Park. This workshop is suitable for a range of abilities and creative experiences. Places are limited to just 10.

What's included in the price?

The workshop runs from 10 - 4 pm, with 10 places and costs £95 per person, including: tuition, all materials and use of equipment, with refreshments provided throughout the day; just bring your lunch.
