Introduction to Blacksmithing - One Day Experience
Learn the craft of blacksmithing - starting with a look at the common tools used by blacksmiths and the techniques of the trade, and through the safe working use of a Forge to manipulate material. You will be taught how to bend metal and create unique shapes with the fire. By the end of the day, you will have produced a variety of ironwork all by your own hands and ready to take home.
What's included in the price?
All the materials needed for your course are included and I will supply safety equipment. Refreshments such as tea, and coffee will be provided, but bringing a packed lunch is advised. Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or getting holes in – cotton t-shirts/tops, jeans and boots are best. Long hair will need to be tied back at all times. The forge is a large open space, and we'll have the doors open to give maximum airflow. Participants are welcome to wear a mask or visor, however given the physical nature of the course we are not making this compulsory as we want to ensure you are comfortable. Hand sanitising is available on arrival, and to use during the day.
Medium - Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts
