Christopher Biggs reviewed: Beginners 1-day 1-2-1 woodturning workshop for 1 person

"I attended the 1/2 day beginners woodturning workshop with Simon and had a great time brushing up long lost skills on a wood lathe. Simon is clearly a very skilled woodworker and made the afternoon interesting, using a variety of handtools to make the different cuts into our piece. He was patient and explained then demonstrated what was next before you got to try out too. We still had the time to make a Christmas Tree and talk about my own tools and he even made them better on his sharpening belt. I couldn't have asked for anything more and looking forward to the next step of learning how to make bowls. Many, many thanks."

Blended Monkey responded:

"Hi Chris, Thanks for a great review - it was a fun few hours! I look forward to seeing you again soon. -- Simon"

clare Spencer reviewed: Dip pens for line and wash

"Fantastic day, didn't realize there are so many different inks or pens. Liz explained the different methods and tools to develop my line and wash pictures, then let us loose to experiment which was fun. I would say to anyone its great way to find out what method and tools suit your style or push you out of your comfort zone and help to develop your skills as an artist. I would always recommend Liz’s courses to anyone they are well planned and Liz is so helpful with any questions thrown her way. The venue was light and spacious a beautiful setting to spend a day developing my art."

Liz Chaderton Artist responded:

Liz reviewed: Two day wood carving course at Middleton Hall

"This was a really enjoyable way to spend a weekend. The tasks are well-judged to be doable in the time, but still somewhat challenging, so you have a sense of achievement at the end, and well-structured so that by the time you get to the trickier bits, you have developed some skill with the tools."

Amerton Arts Studio responded:

"Thank you very much for the review Liz, glad you enjoyed it."

Ben Leppier reviewed: Charcoal & Biochar Making Course - Warminster Wiltshire

"Course was brilliant, both Jackie and Peter knew SO much to help you really get into this if its for you and help you see more options if its not. Their set up in the forest is magnificent, they can teach everyone a LOT about how to care. If you are unsure - just Do the course, you will not be disappointed. Make sure you take lots of questions for Peter :-)"

Sally Wheal reviewed: Ecodyeing - a full day introduction to leaves, rust, heat and fabric alchemy!

"We spent a really inspiring day with Judy, her teaching style is really relaxed but she is very knowledgable and covers so much in a day, as well as being an excellent host. She explained everything really clearly and provided excellent handouts after the course. We are really excited to do more and left feeling confident that we could have a go ourselves. The results were amazing and we were thrilled with what we made. Would definitely recommend this course."

Fiona was excellent combining the right amount of providing the information we needed to know with practical printing on paper and fabric and we all came away with some lovely projects made during the day. I can’t quite believe how she managed to pack so much in. I thoroughly enjoyed the session and will be looking out for more sessions in the spring when they start again."

Liz Rashvand reviewed: Basket making for beginners using traditional willow basketry techniques

"I really wanted to 'have a go' at making a willow basket and this day was perfect! I can't believe I made such a lovely basket as I had never attempted anything like this before. I really love my basket, especially the 'feel' of the willow and the gorgeous colours. Jon and Becky were such easy company, and so expert they made everything seem straightforward. I was worried I wouldn't be able to follow the instruction but Jon and Becky were simply wonderful! Becky's cake and flapjack were a real treat too, thank you Becky! Beautiful location, and a terrific day! Thank you both so much :)"
