Rachel Woodhouse reviewed: Necklaces, handmade beads, ancient fresco-style, papiermache recipe

"An excellent (and well-structured) course. During a single day, we made beads using recycled materials, decorated them and created our own necklaces. The end results were astonishingly good. The group (of all abilities, from keen beaders to absolute beginners) was small, so all got individual attention where necessary. And the home-cooked lunch was delicious!"

Vanessa Sparkes reviewed: Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving

"This was my second weaving course with Alice and I'm really glad I chose to do the day again. I really enjoyed it first time round but doing it again allowed me to improve my technique significantly. This time I've bought a loom and the day after the session have started another weave of my own. The course is a great introduction and Alice teaches you all of the basics so that you can continue if you want to. The setting is lovely as her studio is cosy and you're in a small group, so get as much help as you need. I will definitely be going back and doing another day with Alice, hopefully to learn some more advanced techniques."

Dee Barker reviewed: Willow Obelisk Sculpture

"A wonderful fun course - 4 friends spending a weekend together. Although 10 on the course we went on made it harder for Kate to get around, she made it and we all have amazing willow animals to add to our gardens or house! The hospitality of coffee, lunch and tea was excellent and we were very well looked after. Our stay in the house was very comfortable and extremely clean. Delightful host who provided an excellent breakfast. Very well worth the journey. Thank you."

Tresillian House responded:

"Dear Dee I am delighted that you enjoyed yourselves and yes, have learnt the lesson that 8 should be maximum and we need to try and organise the on line bookings better. All your animals looked wonderful and Kate is a brilliant course leader. Delighted you all had a safe journey back and thank you for taking the time to write the review. best wishes, Alison at Tresillian House"

Sue Envill reviewed: Introduction to Furniture Restoration - Cambridgeshire

"I recently spent two days with Bill covering dovetails and box making. I specifically wanted to learn how to properly cut dovetails but Bill also covered chisel sharpening and we did a small amount of work on the router table - a really bespoke course. I came away feeling relaxed, with a sense of achievement and enthusiastic to produce further dovetail joints. Bill is an excellent tutor, very calm and methodical and great company! I'm already looking forward to further learning with Bill. Highly recommended!"

Helen Leahy reviewed: Pottery classes in Teesside

"I attended the taster session at Poppy Rose and made a usable mug with a hand building technique and also a subsequent session to glaze them. We were able to choose different equipment to work with and given lots of creative freedom to play around with our designs. Louise is a very friendly and approachable teacher and didn’t mind the hundreds of questions we asked about the process! I would definitely recommend and will be going again. Thank you Louise."

Berni Ashworth reviewed: Glass Fusing and Slumping for Beginners and Improvers

"Went back for my third session today and again absolutely loved it. Drinks and biscuits on arrival and chance for a quick chat with the group then on to the day's fun. After a cutting refresher making two snowflake hanging decorations, it was time to decide on the morning's project. Lots of helpful ideas and explanations on how to put my ideas onto paper to plan them tips along the way. Then a yummy homemade lunch then more time for another piece. Again a great day with fabulous teachers and a lovely group. Everyone made such lovely pieces, I can’t wait for the updates on them going in the kilns. See you when we pick the finished creations up then booking next workshop. Would recommend to anyone wanting to have a go. You will be amazed at what you can learn and create even on your first day. Thanks Janice and Jean and see you soon x"

Alex Tattersall reviewed: Bladesmithing experience day

"What a great day today was! This bladesmithing day was bought for me as a birthday present, and it was by far the best one I’ve ever had. It was interesting, entertaining and wholeheartedly fulfilling. I can’t recommend it enough. Steve is a talented smith and a great teacher, who not only helped me make (and take home) an incredible knife to be proud of. But has also inspired me to do more smithing in the future."

White Tiger Knives responded:

"Hi Alex I'm really glad that you enjoyed your bladesmithing day so much. It really was a pleasure to have you work in the shop and see the knife that you created. You'd be more than welcome to come back again to heat and beat some steel. ATB Steve"

Rob Baker reviewed: Premium experience package dry stone walling for beginners

"This was an excellent course. Carl patiently and professionally explained and demonstrated the various techniques of taking down a section of wall that was in disrepair, grading the stone, preparing the footings, selecting the stone and assembling a wall that will last a couple of hundred years. I found the whole experience fascinating. A 3D puzzle that was solved as a team. Sharon provided superb support making sure we were fed and watered. The food was excellent."
