Jayne Towndrow reviewed: Japanese book making

"So having previously completed a leather journal workshop with Lynne I have now done Japanese stab binding. This is endlessly fascinating to me. I came home with three completed, absolutely beautiful books. I find this an absolutely stunning result. Lynne is a great teacher, patience without limit, which frankly is a requirement with me in a classroom. I don't know how she does it. I learned exactly what I wanted to learn so it was terrific. Because she is as she is, one feels able to have another go, at home or another workshop. I felt I could be myself and ask questions. Over and over. And I met Angie who I just loved straight away. One of the most wonderful things was the range of choice for one's books. So many papers and colours and threads. It's like no two books need ever be the same."

Bev Jamieson reviewed: Abstract floral painting course

"Had a lovely day at our Abstract Painting day. Our teacher Natasha was really nice. Very helpful.....and patient!! Spent the first part of the day doing a few short drawing exercises which helped when we started painting our canvases. The painting was really good fun. Hadn’t done anything like this before so very suitable for beginners. The lunch that was provided was very tasty too. Lovely cosy location. Would definitely recommend the course. Love my finished canvas. Thanks Natasha!!"

Janette Page reviewed: Fabric printing & lampshade making workshop

"My sister and I spent a wonderful day at Ria's new studio adjacent to the canal. Lovely studio with so much space. We were kept topped up with tea and coffees and Ria's relaxed and friendly coaching helped us both design and make our lampshades. We were both very pleased with what we achieved and this was our second visit. No doubt we will be back to make something else. We highly recommend her workshops"

Marie Shahin reviewed: Beginners Candlemaking for Two - Anglesey, Wales

"My friend and I visited Anglesey in September but our visit didn’t coincide with any of Anita’s planned beginners workshops. I emailed to see if she could do one just for the 2 of us and Anita obliged us by arranging this. We had great fun and learned a lot, including the correct way to burn a candle, thank you Anita. The workshop was good value for money and we each left with a box of the different candles we had made. A bonus is that Anita provides refreshments free of charge for people doing a workshop :). I was also able to do some Christmas shopping from the items Anita has available in the studio. A great experience and one I would repeat."

Jacqui Ready reviewed: Silver earrings workshop

"Jo is a fabulous teacher with the patience of a saint! I attended a silver earrings workshop following a Summer School with her and although had the basics I needed to perfect my soldering skills. I went home with four pairs of earrings which I admit only one found it’s way to my sister as a Christmas present ?"

Joanne Tinley Jewellery responded:

"Thank you for your kind review Jacqui. The earrings you made during the workshop were really lovely, I'm not surprised you kept most of them but I hope your sister liked hers!"

Sharon Love reviewed: Hessian Floristry workshop

"I really enjoyed attending Annabelle's course; she was extremely organised and made it a very friendly non-threatening atmosphere. As someone who is not very creative at all, I was amazed at what she got out of me! I would definitely recommend one of her courses."

Hessian Creations responded:

"Hi Sharon I am so pleased that you enjoyed the workshop. I like to limit numbers on my workshops to enable me to help participants as much as possible. The flowers you produced were amazing, you clearly have a talent for flower making!"

Diana Hewitson reviewed: Keum Boo: the art of adding 24k gold to silver jewellery

"I really enjoyed this class with Joanne. The Sorting Office studios are a great venue with plenty of room for everyone. Joanne is an excellent teacher who gave clear explanations and demonstrated what was required at each stage of the process. I made a pair of earrings and 2 pendants. The other people taking part ranged from complete novices to those with lots of experience. Everyone left with 2 or 3 pieces of jewellery. I have continued to use the technique at home using an electric hot plate and 24 carat gold leaf. Keum boo is a great, inexpensive way to add a touch of luxe to your jewellery."

Joanne Tinley Jewellery responded:

"Thank you for your lovely review Diana! It was lovely having you in the studio, especially considering the distance you had travelled. Great to hear that you're continuing to use the skills you learnt in the class!"

Nicky Gordon reviewed: Basket making in Norfolk

"Thank you Julie and Rob for your patience, expert knowledge and thorough teaching skills. The group were all guided through techniques at their own pace, enabling everyone to weave a beautiful fruit basket. The day does not require you to have any previous basketry skills, although I would say you need to be able to follow direction. All in all a great day, and don't hesitate to book, you'll have fun."

Tristan reviewed: Spoon carving taster session

"A really enjoyable afternoon! Dave was an excellent and intuitive teacher and took time to walk us through each step of the spoon making process whilst still being hands off, so it was nice to come away with a spoon I felt was really mine. All in all a very well thought out course that would be thoroughly enjoyed by anyone with an interest in learning a new skill."

Julie Brook reviewed: Drum Lampshade making at ShedLight

"As a complete beginner I came away from this half day course on drum lampshade making absolutely delighted with the lovely lampshade I had made under Vanessa's tuition. She guided us through all steps of the process and calmly helped to correct a mistake I had made so it was invisible on the finished product. Vanessa also advised me on how to recreate a shade for a lamp I retrieved when clearing my late father's house. It will be much treasured. Thank you!"

ShedLight responded:

"Thank you Julie I am so pleased you enjoyed your lampshade course and left with a beautiful completed product. It was also a pleasure to advise you on your late fathers lamp and I hope it all goes to plan - you have my email address if you get stuck. Vanessa"

Di Sheppard reviewed: Mosaic workshop at Jackie Nash Art

"I had the best day ever! Jackie was a brilliant tutor and I came away totally buzzing, exhausted and inspired. She is obviously very talented herself but she explained everything simply and succinctly. She was very understanding as I was a complete beginner. I can thoroughly recommend Jackie’s course and will definitely return in the future for more amazing inspirations. I also thought it was great value for money. Thank you Jackie I had a fantastic day. Di Sheppard"

Jackie Nash Art responded:
