About the Course
Learn traditional skills to create designs on fabric. In this batik workshop you will learn to use traditional tools to apply melted wax to cotton, forming a barrier. Experiment with different waxes to achieve amazing results, you will then apply vibrant dyes to create a picture to take home.
Alternatively you can make your design on a scarf and create an individual accessory .
Taught in my rural studio with wonderful views of the North Devon coast. I learnt my skills in Malaysia and added to them with attending workshops over the years. I sell my paintings, scarves and household linens at craft fair and in exhibitions.
I am a member of the Batik Guild

I started out knowing next to nothing about Batik but, with Bridget's patient help and expertise, I surprised myself with my lovely "waterlily" image. The studio is well equipped and I had a lovely day in good company including a delicious carrot soup lunch.
