Natural Dyeing Colours of the Hedgerow with the Woodland Haberdasher
Description
Immerse yourself in the amazing world of natural dyes with this introductory workshop. Learn about the wide array of colours possible to extract from common ‘trees and weeds’ and get your hands on foraged dyestuffs from your garden and the local hedgerows. Find out about how different fibres, methods and mordants can be used to fix and alter colours through discussion and practical activity. You will dye a selection of yarn skeins in different colours as well as some fabric swatch samples. Fay has an incredible wealth of knowledge ready to share; you'll be amazed at the magic of the dyeing processes and what you can achieve! Good for both beginners and those looking to further their knowledge, you will work with a variety of plants from UK hedgerows.
