About the Course
Silver clay looks and feels like porcelain but when fired it is 99.99% pure silver.
For those who want more than a taster, this workshop will show you how to handle the clay for best results. You will design a pendant and earrings/or keyring and complete the project from start to finish with tips for best results and any assistance required. You will texture or pattern your pieces before firing, either in clay or greenware stage, you will be shown both.
The workshop will take you through cutting, texturing, filing, pre-fire sanding, firing, sanding, oxidising, polishing and finishing.
You will add findings and a chain so that your jewellery is ready to wear when you take it away with you.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

Had a brilliant day, really lovely experience. We made jewellery that I love and left the workshop wearing. Anna-Marie has been fantastic. We will definitely be back! xx

I met Annamarie last year at an event in the Midlands and I have a piece of jewellery handmade by her. I know that she combines traditional silversmithing and metal clay to make a lot of her pieces. This is what I wanted to try. So this week I spent a day with her, tailor made for me to have a go at both basic silversmithing and metal clay. It was a really good day - I learned so much. Annamarie gave me lots of pointers about what to have a go at on my own as a start and I will go back to her studio to learn more. She worked at my pace but pushed me a bit too when I was hesitant to try things. Would definitely recommend.

This has been a complete shock. It was bought as a gift for me and I'd never have thought of buying it for myself as I didn't really know anything about metal clay - but it is amazing. It's magical the way it is silver when fired and I'm now hooked. This lady is super clever with the clay - her work is amazing but most of us on the day were new to the clay and she was fab - so generous with her information and patience and I can't believe I left with a pendant and earrings to match - which I'm wearing right now! I travelled a bit of a way but I definitely plan to come back - hopefully for a one to one session. Thank you for a really great day......what a fab gift it turned out to be.
