Tara Morgan reviewed: Garden/ Outdoor mosaic kit: Dragonfly Circle hanging garden decoration

"I am really enjoying this project it was a bit more fiddly than I had anticipated I'm not too sure that I would personally buy it for a child as young as 8 as I think they would be too impatient. A great fun project with plenty of tesserae to make the piece your own if you wanted to. I have spent quite a few hours on mine as I have never done anything like this before. I have the grouting to do next and I am really looking forward to seeing it finished and in my garden. This kit was very good value, well packed, arrived within a few days of buying and contained everything needed ( plus a little bit more ) to complete the mosaic. The directions were super easy too, thank you very much Jacquie I will be exploring more of your kits very soon x"

Primrose Mosaics responded:

"Hi Tara, I'm so glad that you have enjoyed making your mosaic so far, I really appreciate your feedback! Thanks, Jacquie"

Thank you so much Natalie I will be buying more soon xx"

Natalie Bullock Art responded:

"Hello Tara! Thank you for your fantastic feedback - it’s made my day! ? So glad to read you got so much enjoyment out of the process of making the kit too ? Thank you again! Natalie xx"

Andy reviewed: One day welding course: an introduction

"If you want to learn how to weld I doubt that it would be possible to improve on Julian’s course. He is personable, interesting and as an award winning craftsman highly knowledgeable. In addition his forge and workshop are extraordinary, like a visit to the national trust. I’ve always wanted to learn how to weld and doubted I’d ever manage it but now I’m confident. If there was a score above excellent I would have ticked it."

"Had a lovely time on the fused glass course. Teresa is very knowledgeable and helpful and gives you lots of advice which is great. Really enjoyed making a range of suncatchers and still have the excitement of seeing the finished product once they have been fired. Would thoroughly recommend this workshop for beginners and more experienced glass workers looking to try something different."

Clare Talbot reviewed: Pot throwing on the wheel for a Half Day

"I booked for a 3 hour introduction to potting on the pottery wheel session. Advance communication was timely and instructions clear and helpful. Richard was really friendly and available to give lots of support and encouragement after an initial demonstration. There were only 2 of us in the studio and the atmosphere was relaxed and informal. I had a really enjoyable morning, felt I learned a lot and improved quickly, I will definitely be returning for another session."

Potterydayz responded:

Wendy reviewed: One day leather work course - small leather goods

"I highly recommend the One-Day course. Not only do you make a lovely small leather item (a note book cover, in my case), you also come away knowing a lot more about the different types of leather, dyeing methods, tools, techniques etc. Jason is friendly, knowledgeable teacher. The studio is light and airy and set in lovely surroundings. I enjoyed my day so much, that I booked the Two-Day course before coming away and will no doubt attend the Three-Day course too! Take the plunge – you will not be disappointed."

Diamond Awl Leather Workshop responded:

"Thank you Wendy and look forward to our next meeting regards Jason"

Adam Clarke reviewed: Blacksmithing - one to one - Hammer Skills

"Cannot recommend this course more highly. Bob immediately makes you feel welcome at the forge and puts any nerves at ease. His teaching style is amazing, allowing you to make mistakes and then helping you fix them and learn from it, which I found lets you really understand the point of the lesson. I made two items to take home with me, a poker and a toasting fork which are so good that people are now accusing me of stealing Bob’s work and passing it off as my own. That is a great endorsement of his teaching. I would absolutely go back for a follow up course. Thanks Bob!"

Patrice reviewed: One to One Candle Making Business One Day Course (Bexley -London)

"I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed yesterday's candle making course at your house. It was clear, informative and I appreciated your candor and openness about the Candle industry. I remember Kemi saying that you literally answered all her questions and throughout the day you showed structure and professionalism when it came to demonstrating how to make the candles, your handouts will be very useful for future reference. I thoroughly enjoyed making my candles and I now feel that we are both better informed about the candle making business. Patrice & Kemi"

Old Bexley Soap & Candle Co. responded:

"Thank you so much Patrice, so pleased to hear you enjoyed the course. All the best of luck in your new candle business. Paula"

Sue reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"Brilliant day making a Hare sculpture. I’d never done anything like this before & am not known for my artistic skills... It really was great fun, so rewarding to see ‘Bob’ come to life from twisted wire, foil & some messy stuff plus he looks like a hare too! Recommend this to anyone, Jo’s a lovely teacher just the right mix of helping & standing back, setting’s tranquil & welcoming, plenty of refreshments, a good way to spend a day!"

Jo Garden Art responded:

"'Bob' ! you have a name - nudge nudge, wink wink (sorry everyone, private joke!). So glad to help find your inner artist skills come to the surface ;-) It was a great day. Jo xx"

Jane Simmons reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"I would like to thank Sebastian for a fantastic 2 day sculpture course... I have never done anything like this before so was thrilled when my friend bought me a course for my birthday, I didn’t know what to expect and was slightly worried that I wouldn’t be able to do it but I did not need to worry... Sebastian is an excellent tutor he is relaxed and very encouraging a very kind man I ended up with a sculpture to take home that I felt very surprised and happy with thanks to his help. The other bonus is the location is beautiful, I found the whole thing so relaxing and therapeutic, tea and biscuits were on offer at regular intervals. I can’t wait to go back again! I would recommend anyone to go and experience this course! Thank you Sebastian for your patience. Jane"

"This course was a lot of fun and I now have a lovely (and pretty big) willow basket! Jonny was very welcoming and kept us hydrated with lots of Tea! Lunch was delicous. Becky joined us after lunch to lend a hand with the tricker bits of the baskets. Overall, a wonderful way to spend the day with great company, great teachers and a hand made basket to take home at the end of it."

Steve Page reviewed: Lucy Churchill's Stone Carving Workshops

"I really enjoyed three delightful days of stone-carving with Lucy and one other student, in May 2021. From the start I felt welcomed and at ease, with all Covid related matters dealt with in a straightforward and sensitive way. I have some previous experience of stone carving and I really appreciated how Lucy acknowledged that and at the same time didn't make any assumptions about what I knew or could do. I liked going through basic steps of carving and the different tools and taking our time to choose stone suitable for the projects we both wanted to work on. Once started, Lucy was consistently on hand to guide, instruct, demonstrate and encourage. She was also generous in sharing stories from her experience as a stonemason and showing us some of her recent sculptures, placing them in their context. Alongside the time spent in the workshop I enjoyed the conversations, coffee, food and overall very relaxed atmosphere. The course has deepen my understanding of some of the technical aspects of carving and left me with thoughts and questions about the process of sculpting which I look forward to exploring further. I will undoubtedly be back!"

Sarah Joseph reviewed: Traditional Leather Workshop (small leather goods)

"I wish I could give this workshop 6 stars ! I was lucky enough to have 1:1 tuition and could not believe what I managed to achieve in a day. Kingsley was flexible and extremely generous with his time and knowledge (and has great taste in music). The course was far from prescriptive and with no former experience I was able to make something slightly original. You could not find a better person to introduce you to leather !"

Fiona Akins reviewed: One to one throwing sessions

"My daughter and I attended Karen's pottery class and had a great morning. The class was relaxed and informal, Karen talked us through the process of throwing the clay and demonstrated the process before letting us loose on the potters wheels. Throwing the clay is a lot harder than I thought it would be physically but would definitely have another go. Certainly would recommend a class with Karen. Was very impressed with the Covid procedures Karen has in place, felt a very safe environment, strict cleaning of utensils, no sharing of equipment, open window, hand sanitizer etc."
