Stained Glass Taster Day @ Bowood House & Gardens
Description
Come to the stunning Bowood House & Gardens in Wiltshire to learn the ancient craft of stained glass. During the day, based at the ‘The Gardener’s Bothy’, you will learn about both leaded stained glass and copper-foil. You will: • learn some of the history of the craft • learn the processes of both techniques • make your own leaded sample piece to take away with you. After a light lunch you will have a tour of Bowood House, including the stained glass, and you will also be able to wander the grounds after the course finishes at 4pm. Please note that Bowood House & Gardens closes at 5pm. By the end of the course you will have a good understanding of the two techniques, with a good foundation should you wish to take either technique further, and even if you don’t, you will have a beautiful piece of glass to take away from a great day in a beautiful location. No experience needed, all tools and equipment provided, please do wear enclosed shoes (no sandals or slip-ons) and either clothes you don’t mind getting mucky, or bring an apron. NOT SUITABLE for pregnant women due to the use of lead. Please note - Bowood House & Gardens is a no-smoking venue.
