Course Start DatesSaturday 14th March 2020
About the Course
Discover the techniques and processes involved in making a leaded stained glass panel.
During the day learn how to cut glass to one of our tried and tested patterns - there are LOTS to choose from! Then lead and solder the panel to take home.
For those with some experience, choose from our extensive range of slightly more complex patterns with more challenging cut/lead lines.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
The art of stained glass uses sharp glass, chemicals and lead – please be aware that the course is NOT suitable for children under 16 years of age or if you are pregnant.
Our one day courses are intensive - if you have any health concerns, problems with balance, standing/sitting for long periods, or are affected by poor grip, please contact us before booking to discuss your needs.
You MUST wear sensible shoes in our studio – no open toes, sandals, flip flops etc. We reserve the right to ask a student to leave the class if correct attire is not worn, and/or if safety information is not adhered to. No refund will be given in this instance.
Traditional stained glass work uses tallow, therefore if you are vegetarian/vegan and would prefer not to use this on the day, please contact us before booking.

Response from Cariad Glass:Thank you so much, lovely words! Really pleased you enjoyed your day with us, and hope to see you in 2019!
Had a great day, to be honest much more than I expected, the day went far too quickly.
Went away feeling confident to cut glass and solder, as well as making a very nice stained glass picture to take home and show off.
Class sizes are just right and with Justine and Chris being excellent teachers the whole process was well explained but not overly.
Plenty of breaks and coffee with biscuits, always good.
Would love to go back and do the Mosaic course soon.
Thank you for such a great day.

Response from Cariad Glass:Thank you Sherry, so pleased you had a good day - loved teaching you and hope you'll be back in 2019!
Amazing to go from knowing absolutely nothing about this craft to producing a fabulous keepsake within a day!
We had a fun relaxing day with excellent tuition by friendly and patient tutors.
The day is well worth the cost to receive the knowledge and skills necessary to create something of beauty.
I would happily go again

The day went so quickly. From start to end it was so interesting. Informative, friendly and helpful.
Chris and Justine have such a passion for Cariad glass that they embrace you into their magic bubble. What I achieved by the end of the day was truly amazing. I will definitely be returning to do another class.

Response from Cariad Glass:Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Ann!
Really enjoyed it. Went from complete beginner, who had never cut glass before, all the way to producing a lovely bit of stained glass. The course is really well designed; they have obviously run it numerous times before, so there is a very suitable amount of input from tutors, sensible choice of patterns you can use (nothing unachievable, but plenty of variety), good equipment, nice introduction to the various techniques needed throughout the day, plenty of breaks, and it is well set up so that if one person needs a bit more help than somebody else it's easily done.
Judith Thornton - - #17148
Response from Cariad Glass:Thank you so, so much Judith - really kind words that mean a great deal to us!
Really enjoyed this class and was very impressed by what we could achieve in a day. The tutors were very helpful & friendly and gave just the right amount of guidance & help. Would love to do another one at some point.

Just really enjoyed it! It was well thought out, a nice sized class and you went away with something you were proud of! I told my husband that I would pay money to buy the panel I made!!!
Would love to come back and do the mosaic course.
