A full day small group or 1:1 stained glass workshop at my studio in Birch Vale, High Peak, Derbyshire, You will learn how to create your own stained glass ornament or sun catcher. During the day we will cover safety aspects of working with stained glass, the tools required, pattern design, choosing and cutting glass, grinding and fitting, copper foiling, soldering through to finishing the project so that at the end of the day you will walk away with your very own beautiful creation. I am happy to discuss ideas for designs beforehand or you are more than welcome to use the designs I will bring on the day. All equipment and materials are provided. Refreshments freely available throughout the day but a packed lunch should be brought and suitable closed toe shoes should be worn. The workshops would normally start at around 10:30am and we would aim to finish by 4:30pm depending on the requirements of the group or individual.

FAQs

We do have a friendly elderly cocker spaniel who likes to greet participants on arrival but sleeps most of the day! Do not feed her however ‘hungry’ she tries to tell you she is!

Apart from your lunch, if you need reading glasses please bring those. All safety equipment and materials are provided. Wear closed toe footwear is advised and although aprons are provided, you might want to wear old clothes.

No, the workshop takes place on the first floor which is accessed via stairs. The rest of the day is spent on one level on the first floor.

Yes, parking is available on the driveway at the front.

Lunch is not included but tea/coffee/water is freely available throughout the day. Please bring a packed lunch. Kitchen facilities such as fridge, microwave and kettle are available to use.
