A rare 2 day opportunity to learn how we paint for stained glass, the materials and tools used and the firing for permanence. Based on the windows of Shibden Hall, this design with border glass is called a quarry. The course is aimed at beginners and those wishing to improve their painting techniques. We are working with Church stained glass professional Deborah Lowe of Pendle Stained Glass who covers the whole of the uk. Expert advice and experienced guidance throughout. You will be creating your own personal designs and turning your work into classic glass panels using lead and learning how to solder. You will need good use of your hands and will be drawing/painting during the weekend. .
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
All materials and tools are included. No extra costs are asked for on the day.

Absolutely brilliant weekend managed to produce a piece that was classed as intermediate. Great explanations of techniques and new skills learnt , which has now got me thinking . Definitely recommend if you're feeling arty and crafty .

I hope you are inspired to keep learning! The design is vital as a guide. It was great to work with you and your natural enthusiasm. A really lovely result. Thank you for this review it matters to practitioners. What a fabulous course. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutors who were very encouraging. We had done leaded work before but still learnt new techniques which we will put into practice. Deborah who lead the painting aspect is full of ideas and very patient. Laura also offers mosaic days so will most likely be back. Also on a Saturday fab food market in Todmorden to get lunch supplies.

My pleasure! Loved your original ideas and you learnt so much in an afternoon.I wanted to have a go at stained glass leading for years. Laura’s studio has everything all the tools and loads of glass colour chooses. Great advice and design help. I was walking on air when we finished. Great building too. Worth the money and 2 days flew by.
