Stained Glass – leaded work two day workshop at the Heritage Skills Centre at Lincoln Castle.
Discover this traditional form of glass work!
On this two day workshop you will use cold cutting techniques and lead came to produce weatherproof panels that can be used for both decorative and practical purposes. On this workshops you will make a simple leaded panel that can be displayed by hanging in a window. The course is practical and engaging, providing a choice of patterns and a large selection of coloured and textured glass for you to choose from. You will go home with your own piece of leaded stained glass.
-selecting suitable glass
-scoring and breaking glass to a pattern
-stretching and working with lead came
-soldering the joints and attaching hanging rings
-cementing the piece for water tightness
Participant Information: Suitable for ages 16 +. We advise that pregnant women do not take part in courses which include contact with lead. Please wear comfortable casual clothes and preferably an apron or old shirt with closed toe shoes.
