Glass Art - two day course in stained glass (traditional leaded or copper foil "Tiffany" technique)

X

Description

To allow plenty of room for social distancing, we're still limiting class sizes to 4 people for the forseeable future. (If you'd like to book a course for your own group we can take a class of 5 people.) Discover the world of glass art in a relaxing short course over two days, in our spacious purpose designed glass teaching studio. Join us for a two day stained glass course in our Chilham studio, nestled in the Kent Downs. Our small class sizes (even smaller at the moment!) mean that you’re assured of the guidance that you need to make good progress and to take away a decorative panel to be proud of. Come with your own design ideas or be inspired by our surroundings in the Kent Downs. You will learn to cut glass & choose from our wide range of colours and textures of glass when creating your design. You will also master the techniques needed to transform your idea into a beautiful glass panel to take home and treasure. If you are under 18 & / or expecting a baby, you need to avoid working with lead & solder so a stained glass course won't be appropriate. You're more than welcome to join one of our glass appliqué courses instead, or one of our glass fusing courses (or both!). Details of our course dates can be found on the "booking" page of our website, 'View course organiser's website' link above. This will give you a calendar view where you can see everything that's planned for the studio (all of the courses, anyway!)

What's included in the price?

The cost of all materials and loan of all tools, tuition in our airy purpose-designed teaching studio (some of the photos show our smaller original studio, right next door), a light lunch and refreshments during the sessions. Oh and a great day or two! All of this is in a semi rural environment in the beautiful medieval village of Chilham. Also included is the optional attention of four very cute hens, unless you don't like them (they won't be offended!). They're not allowed in the studio, as they don't wear shoes... ;-)

Duration

2 days (10:00am to 5:30pm)

Cancellation policy

Strict - Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 8 weeks before the course starts

Maker

I'd been working with glass for over 30 years before starting to teach glass art in 2014. I've exhibited with the Contemporary Glass Society and at the International Festival of Glass as well as taking part in masterclasses in glass fusing and glass casting. There are few things I love more than sharing my passion for glass art with other people, whether complete beginners or people with years of experience under their belts. Come, try a course and see if you love it as much as I do! If you'd like to book more places than are shown on the site, please get in touch. Not all availability is shown on here, as I also take bookings through my own website. So there might be room for a larger group. Mattt
