About the Course
This course is aimed at people who would like to know how to make fused glass. You will be shown how to cut sheet glass, design your piece and make it. Basic fusing schedules will be covered. You will be using Bullseye sheet glass, frit, stringers and confetti in a wide variety of colours. The course can be undertaken by children over the age of 14 as long as they are aware that they will cut their own glass. Younger children should try the "No-Cutting Required" course.
The 3 hour course will be from 9.30 am - 12.30 pm or 1 pm - 4 pm and is really a taster session.
6 hour course (£150) would be 10 - 4 pm. We will have time to go over fusing shedules in more depth as well as produce more pieces on this course. Ideal for someone hoping to do this themselves in the future. You can either follow my teaching session or you can make a piece you have thought about and want to make.
Light refreshments will be served as and when required.
You can bring a packed lunch with you, or there are several pubs in the area that will serve lunch.
3 hour course you can make 1/2 coasters or plate. The 6 hour course you should be able to make a coaster, ring/soap dish and plate in the time permitted and cutting

I would strongly recommend this course, which I did in December 2016. I had previously done traditional leading courses, but glass fusing was new to me. I learned such a lot in one day, Ros was an excellent teacher- she explained the whole process very clearly and I spent time carefully choosing what to make and what colours to use and by the end of the afternoon my coasters and dish were put in the kiln for firing, then posted on to me a few days later. Altogether a thoroughly enjoyable day and I look forward to doing a more advanced course in her new studio this year.

We have done two classes with Ros and enjoyed every minute. I can do stained glass and it's really nice to see a different side to glass. Ros is a very good teacher and tells you all you need to know. You then get to take home, after the glass has been fused, a very good piece of art. Would recomend, a very good way to spend the afternoon.

We would recommend this course for both those who just want to have a go at glass fusing for fun and to those who want to progress further in the craft. Ros, the tutor, is very experienced in her craft and is an excellent tutor. She explains from the start that dealing with glass can be quite challenging and safety is very important. She will tailor the course to your requirements and guides you through the whole process allowing you to experiment with your own ideas. We have been on two courses and will definitely be back for more. It's great fun and, beware, very addictive.

I did this course on 28.1.16, and it was taken by a lovely lady called Ros. The day started with some safety information, then started the fun part of deciding what to make.
Ros was very friendly and I made a bowl, some coasters and several other things. Due to the long process of the firing and cooling, the items are posted or collected after a few days. Further courses can be arranged to do more advanced techniques can be arranged.
I would recommend this course.
