An Introduction to Stained Glass - 2 day Weekend Workshop
Contact course provider
About the Course
A relaxed, fun and informal way to learn about the art of Stained Glass, in a small class setting, with a very experienced tutor.
This intensive weekend course will outline the techniques involved in making leaded glass windows, showing the many different types and colours of glass available and highlighting the techniques used to achieve different effects. The emphasis will be on practical work, with lots of demonstrations, with each student completing their panel by the end of the weekend. The course is for mixed abilities, as I find all students learn so much from each other. Above all, the course will be FUN! In this two day workshop, you will make your own stained glass panel that you can take home.
If you have any ideas/ sketches/images you are keen to use, please feel free to bring them to the class or call me to discuss prior to the course.

A thoroughly enjoyable two days. The course covered every aspect of leaded stained glass, from cutting to the flow of a design. Fi gave expert advice at every step of the process and, under her tuition, at the end of the second day I left with a panel I was enormously proud of.
The setting of Fi's studio is lovely, such a beautiful location. Well worth making a long weekend of the course and staying in the local area to see more of it. Next time!

I spent an amazing weekend with Fi creating a stained glass panel. This was the first time I had attempted anything remotely like this but her patience and way of sharing her skill and knowledge made it possible and I was so pleased with the result. And as promised - it was fun! It has also left me wanting to learn more. Thank you Fi. Barbara March 2017

Fantastic! Brilliant! Fi is very knowledgeable and puts you at ease from the moment you meet her. The two days are all about being hands on and I have come away thoroughly inspired by the craft and its endless possibilities. I had undertaken a stained glass course before using copper foil techniques but this was a couple of years ago and I have never used lead and so it was like starting again but Fi quickly assessed my capabilities and following discussion we designed my project and got started. With informative help on hand when needed, I was really chuffed with my finished panel. Would thoroughly recommend this class and can't wait to return to do more!
