Sarah reviewed: Foragers basket Willow Workshop in Warton, Polesworth

"We had a lovely day making our baskets. Faye was a great teacher and we were all thrilled with our baskets. The foraging basket is a great size, looks really artisian and Faye was so knowledgeable about nature and willow weaving. The location is peaceful and in a beautiful garden full of birds and plants. We loved it for a 60th birthday celebration and would recommend highly. The location was great for us to meet centrally as we are dotted around the UK. "

Faye of the Forest responded:

"Thank you Sarah so pleased you enjoyed the experience. x"

Jackue Jones reviewed: Furniture Painting Workshop (levels 1&2 techniques covered) in Warrington, Cheshire

"A great relaxed and welcoming class. Jo was obviously very passionate and experienced in furniture painting, which she happily shared with the group and individually to each person. We learnt many techniques which will help in future restorations. This was the first time I have attempted furniture painting, it has given me motivation to carry on. The 5 hour course flew by with so much to enjoy. Thank you for a lovely day. "

The Boho Shed responded:

"Thank you for your lovely review Jackie, and for being open to experimenting with different colours and techniques. You made such a lovely job of your mirror. I'm so pleased you enjoyed the day. x"

David reviewed: Pole lathe turning / green woodworking 1-2-1 or pairs

"Really great day woodturning. The course was laid out really well, taking a 'raw' split log all the way through the stages of the process to create a fully finished item. Lot's of useful instruction, both on the theory and the practical nature of each step along with some great guidance on how to improve. Really beautiful setting to learn in too, plus Simon and Louise were super friendly. I'd definitely recommend to anybody interested in either learning woodturning for themselves or as a great one-off experience day."

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Hi David, Thanks for your candid review and so glad you enjoyed the day - we were lucky with the weather too! — Simon"

Sorcha reviewed: Maille making the traditional way.

"Extremely thorough instruction in all aspects of beginner maillemaking. Phil is an excellent teacher and very very patient. Even if you come to this course with absolutely zero prior knowledge and limited aptitude for other weaving-based crafts (like me), you will come away with a strong sense of the basics. For Reenactors or history geeks, it's worth the price for the opening lecture on different styles of European maille alone. Would recommend to anyone. "

Phil Parkes Maille responded:

"Thanks Sorcha, glad you enjoyed it and to hear that the 'theory' bit was useful too."

Taylor Hammond reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"My wife and I booked the one day Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo as our anniversary gift to each other. This was one of the most well organised and rewarding experiences I have ever embarked on. From the moment of arrival Jo, Andy, and the Spaniels warmly welcome you into their home, (dedicated studio) and garden. We felt so well looked after. Making one of these rascal Hares is a complex task, but Jo's visual teaching method and simple explanations make it completely non stressful and extremely enjoyable. Every material and its application is clearly explained and demonstrated. To see your simple wire armature slowly build up in various layers of materials and take on its own character over the day, was an absolute joy. Great value for money when you understand what is involved and the number of materials required. We now own two unique Hares made by us, each with a tiny glass memento jar and secret message hidden inside, sitting proudly in our garden for all to enjoy. Honestly, I cannot recommend this course highly enough, if there was an additional star for 'going the extra mile' I would gladly award it to Jo. Thankyou for helping us make memories."

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Wow Taylor - what an amazing review - thank you so much! We are very lucky to have the lovely setting to run the workshops, and thank you for appreciating the work we put in to make the sculpture days memorable. We love it! Jo x"
