Silver jewellery course for beginners in Exeter
Description
Learn to use silver clay to make unique jewellery on this half day introductory silver metal clay workshop in Exeter. Metals clay is fine metal powder mixed with a binder to create malleable clay that can be moulded, textured, rolled and cut out. The clay is then dried before being fired with a torch (which can be done using an inexpensive torch at home) or with a kiln to produce a solid piece of metal. We will be demonstrating firing with a torch so you know what you can achieve in a home environment. You will learn how to roll and cut precious silver clay, add textures, layering, dry and fire with a torch, finish pre- and post-firing, including polishing, patinating silver surfaces (if you wish) , drilling. In this course you can make simple but attractive pendants or earrings. If you are interested in making more complex jewelry, check out my other courses and if you have additional questions, please contact me. Fired silver clay yields 99.9% fine pieces of silver. With this course, you can create your own project within 4 hours. You can make 2-3 pieces of jewelry - earrings, pendant, charms. Please contact me for more information.
