Manal reviewed: 1-to-1 Organic Skincare Workshop at Maid in the Meadow

"The course with Alison is absolutely full of learning and information. I really learnt a lot. One day was not enough. If you want to learn about skin care from an experienced formulator and all the health and safety of making skin care products, you are at the right place. Alison was also very kind and a listener. She doesn’t only provide recipes that you can find anywhere online, in-fact she teaches you how to formulate and come up with any product you have in mind. She is an encyclopedia of handmade skin care products. She is fun to work with and a great host as well. I highly recommend Alison for a skin care workshop."

Maid in the Meadow responded:

"Thank you for your lovely review and recommendation. It was so nice to meet you and I'm glad you had fun and enjoyed your day making your bespoke skincare products in my workshop. I hope you feel inspired now, to go on and create more products in the future with the skills you have learned. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact me. Kind regards Allison"

David Shacklady reviewed: Two day wood carving course at Snowshill Manor

"My friend and I did this course on a somewhat mixed weather weekend. The instructor Geraint was very knowledgable and a good teacher. When the weather changed, cover was available, when it was nice, carving in the orchard was a treat. A very enjoyable course with lots of options for the final pieces. I would certainly recommend the course."

Susanne reviewed: Two day wood carving course at Snowshill Manor

"Geraint was a friendly and positive tutor. We wasted no time getting on with our projects, and I was very pleased with my finished hedgehog. My husband did the ammonite which looked very professional and was a beautiful finished object. Help was on hand when we were struggling. The course does involve standing from 10am to 4pm with only short breaks for coffee/lunch, so this needs to be born in mind. Having said that, Snowshill is a beautiful venue in warmer weather. We had cover from the rain on day 2, but the ground was damp."

Rowena reviewed: Stained Glass for Home and Garden

"Three friends joined this course & enjoyed learning the process of creating something unique & beautiful. Anna was really friendly & knowledgeable. It did at times feel her time with each participant was spread a bit thin, which was a shame, but overall a great day."

Anna Conti Stained Glass responded:

"Thanks Rowena, Sometimes I am stretched as it completely depends on my students' needs as some need more help than others. At least everyone comes away with a finished panel on the day."

Sandra reviewed: Lampwork Beadmaking Full Day Introduction For One

"Ruth was a calm and patient teacher with a wealth of experience and knowledge. Working with blobs of molten glass was way out of my comfort zone but Ruth introduced the techniques slowly, incrementally and safely. I chose the style of beads and glass colour, and I successfuĺy made eight beads. A tasty home made lunch was included. I enjoyed my day and I thoroughly recommend this course."

Kalypso Glass responded:

Adrian Riley reviewed: Furniture Painting Workshop (levels 1&2 techniques covered) in Preston, Lancashire

"This course was amazing! Reasonably priced and I learned a lot of different techniques and still had time to paint my own piece of furniture with lots of great tips thrown in. Gillie Morgan reviewed: From the garden- still life with a mixed media approach

"I was lucky enough to be given a day of painting at 'Art in the Barn' as a belated Christmas present from one of my daughters and all I can say is that it was absolutely lovely from start to finish! We were there just over a week ago and found the studio full of natural light and equipped to a high standard. Each trestle table provided had all the equipment we would need for the day and more. We had chosen to do a day of painting garden flowers using mixed media. As I really enjoy using just watercolours, this was a great introduction to trying other mediums. We were encouraged to try everything provided on different paper while keeping our energy levels up with home cooked brownies and freshly made coffee! In all it was a great day out and has inspired us to be more bold and creative in our painting . I loved it all! Thank you so much Alison."

Blooming Designs - Art in the Barn responded:

"Dear Gillie, Thank you for your lovely feedback, it was really great to meet and work with you and Sarah, I am so pleased you enjoyed the day so much. Hopefully it has inspired you to carry on painting using some of the new techniques you have learnt, ( if you need any more information please do get in touch !) Wishing you all the best, Alison"

Claire reviewed: SAORI Weaving Discovery Session

Sarah reviewed: Learn to Felt - An Introduction to Felt Making in Birmingham

"Emma ran an excellent course. She was extremely accommodating to find a date that suited me and my family members to be able to attend to celebrate my birthday. She was very generous with her time and materials, allowing us to stay an extra 1/2 hr as we hadn't quite finished. At the end she also very kindly gave me a gift, so as to be able to continue doing some felting at home. I would highly recommend Emma's course, which is located in a lovely studio at the end of her garden. To anyone who is interested in trying a different craft; nothing is too much trouble for Emma and we all had a great time."

Emma Jackson (Silversoles - Felted Textiles) responded:

"So pleased you enjoyed your day with us & feel privileged to have contributed to your birthday celebrations. Thank you for your great review, it was a pleasure introducing you & your family group to felt making. Hope you’ll enjoy making more felt!"

"There was a mix up on the course starting time which was a nuisance as I came early and needed to leave early. Would be good to make sure everyone has the same course times when they book. Thanks"

"Hi Helen, We can only apologise again for the mix up for the start times. We did start earlier to accommodate this and all aspects of the course were covered in the times available. If you need any further information or advice, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Sarah and Kim "

Simon Spencer reviewed: Introduction to spooncarving at Hill End

"I had a very enjoyable day learning how to create a spoon from a piece of hazel wood. David and Caroline were lovely, had plenty of knowledge and skills to share and were always on hand to demonstrate new techniques and solve problems. I feel like I’ve learned something new, and spending time at beautiful Hill End was a very relaxing way to spend a day. Thanks!"

David Knight Woodland Crafts responded:

"Hi Simon, thanks so much for the positive comments. It is always a joy to work with such an enthusiastic group who are willing to get stuck in. I hope your sister thinks your second ever spoon is an improvement on your first and that she’ll be even more impressed with the third, fourth, fifth...."
