Ian Raven reviewed: Beginners bowl carving

"Had a fantastic time on the Beginner's Bowl Carving course with Nick. He is both very talented and knowledgeable and also great company. I came away with two bowls that I was pleased with and a renewed passion for green woodworking - so much so that I'm looking to book something again with Nick soon. Highly recommended for both the beginner and those with more experience as well."

Gosman Spoon Co. responded:

"Thank you Ian! We hope to have the chance to welcome you back in the near future."

Langley Iddins reviewed: Introduction to Lettering & Engraving - Stone Carving Skills

"A very good introduction to letter cutting in stone. With Alan's patient and helpful guidance it demonstrated that this is a skill which requires months, perhaps years of practice to master. A most enjoyable three hours."

Burngate Purbeck Stone Centre responded:

"Hi Langley, thank you very much for your review. Glad to hear you had an enjoyable time. We'd love to welcome you to Burngate again soon! Regards, David Wise"

Claire and Aves reviewed: Candle making workshops for beginners - St Albans, Hertfordshire

"We attended the candle making workshop hosted by Anne on Saturday morning 23rd September 2023. The session was professionally hosted and Anne was exceptionally disarming, informative, and had a gentle sense of humour. The venue was very inviting, relaxed and informal and we were able to focus an intimate group of seven. All the equipment needed was available and provided with clear instruction for use and the group encouraged to express their individual creativity. Anne was the perfect host and we would rate this workshop an absolute 10 out of 10."

Francesca reviewed: Natural soap & cosmetic products workshop

"What a lovely day! Had the best time at crafters cottage making soaps and natural body care products. Julie and Janet were so welcoming and lovely. Julie was very knowledgeable and led the workshop in a really fun and interesting way but also full of handy tips and information we needed to know if we wanted to make our own products afterwards. It was great that we were in a group of 8 which meant that we made some really nice connections with each other but also small enough to be able to ask Julia any questions we needed to. A really lovely day that I would thoroughly recommend! "

Crafters Cottage Holmfirth responded:

"Hi Francesca Thank you so much for your lovely review. You were a really nice set of students to teach, lots of fun and you made some beautiful products. Good enough to sell!! So glad you enjoyed the course and I hope you will join us again in the future xx"

Stevie Kesham reviewed: Half Day Introductory Woodturning Course for 1 or 2 people near Salisbury Wiltshire

"Me and my partner had such a wonderful experience with George, woodturning for his birthday. Incredibly patient, even when we kept forgetting the same thing over and over again! George had a cosy workshop where we all worked and we left with 2 proper pieces we made!(three including the practice piece). I genuinely would recommend the experience to anyone. A great Instructor and fun day out ☺️"

Maggie reviewed: Wood joints class using reclaimed materials

"Wood joints class using reclaimed materials. An instructive day spent with Tyler who clearly demonstrated his stated passion & preference for teaching. I am a mature person with some dexterity drawbacks, so I found Tyler kind, patient & knowledgeable. I’ve had a long-standing interest in woodwork, & during the class I was able to revise some rusty skills & learn some new ones. Highly recommend."

TM Woodcrafts responded:

"Thank you for your kind words! It was a great day and you did fantastic! "

Raeesa Valli reviewed: Natural soap & cosmetic products workshop

"This was such a fun course, honestly had the best time ever. Attended with a friend as a part of her surprise birthday treat and she loved it. We got to make and take home so many goodies; I’ve gave mine to some of my family members who love the products. The afternoon tea provided was divine! My only complaint is that we have to walk through the shop which is full of goodies and I couldn’t help splurge on the amazing products they had! Went home with too many shopping bags!! Haha, thanks so much for an amazing time. 10/10 defo recommend!"

Crafters Cottage Holmfirth responded:

"Aww. Thank you for your lovely review and so glad you both enjoyed the workshop. You were a lovely group of ladies, a little bit messy! But great fun. You are more than welcome any time x"

Dorothy Dominy reviewed: Log to Stool with Gedwood

"Thoroughly enjoyed the log to stool course with Ged on Sunday. I was apprehensive on arrival with the array of tools on show. The first demonstration of using an axe to split your log didn't quell my concerns. But Ged has a calming way with him and under his guidance and with a fair bit of banter and encouragement within our group we all tackled each stage of the process. It's really wonderful how good you feel when you look at the finished article. A great day our with a beautiful wee stool to take home at the end of it all. "

Gedwood responded:

"Glad you enjoyed the stool making Dorothy. Was a good day of learning and banter!😊👍"

Alex reviewed: Stained glass taster day in Worcestershire

"My cousin and I really enjoyed the stained glass taster day. Vicky and Vic passed on a lot of knowledge and handy tips and we both left with a 25cm x 25cm piece we’re proud of. It was fascinating to learn how to draw a template, cut glass (not scary), grind it, assemble it with the lead, then finally solder it. A very interesting day, with the bonus of a tasty lunch. "

Kingcot Gallery responded:

"Dear Alex, thank you for your kind words, it is appreciated. Hopefully it's given you a good idea of what's involved for your project - which you are more than capable of tackling! All the best Vicky"

"Absolutely brilliant. I was a complete beginner and can’t recommend this course enough. I can’t believe how much I learnt in two days. I was cutting glass, grinding, pinning lead and soldering. Bonnie helped me get a design from my head onto paper and then into a glass. "

Jane Blundel reviewed: Silver jewellery making class for beginners

"I'm amazed at how much I learnt in a day, I designed and made these earrings with Jonathan's excellent tuition. I would definitely recommend a workshop, it was a birthday present from my husband, and something I'd wanted to try for a long time. I'm now buzzing with ideas and would like to try making a necklace."

Salt Way Silver responded:

"You are always welcome back for some necklace making. Your earrings are getting lots of "likes" from the pictures we posted, so it looks like you have created a very popular design. It was a bit tricky but we worked on it together, and made something truly beautiful. Well done Jane (and thank you for the very kind review). Jonathan"

Claire Blackford reviewed: Round Shopper Willow Basket

"We had a great time making our baskets on Saturday! Suz explained everything well and was a patient teacher. The workshop was well paced and the small group meant we could all have lots of help when we needed it. The woodland setting is absolutely beautiful and made the day feel really special and stand out from other craft workshops. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and would love to go to another workshop led by Suz. Thank you :) "
