Come and make a chicken or heron-ideal beginner or a flying owl -(previous experience helps) from lovely Somerset willow. Basic metal frame and all materials included. Great for a beginner! Wear comfy clothing and footwear. Maybe an apron!

Hi I am a self taught willow artist and live in Somerset, surrounded by willow! I make all sorts of commission pieces and you can see my work at The Swannery, Abbotsbury . I run willow sculpture workshops at Studi0ne,Bridport,River Cottage & Symondsbury Estate,The David Hall,South Petherton, Cottage Flowers, Jordans Courtyard, Flowerdew Farm, and Musgroves Willow located in Dorset, Devon and Somerset. From hares to deer, pigs, bees, dragonfly and flying owls, Christmas wreaths, to name a few! I can also come to you if you can get 8 people together-local village hall.....

"Jo, has a warm welcoming manner and is very accommodating of everybody's needs. She is clearly a very experienced crafts woman, so is able to work willow expertly and consequently she can solve any problems the leaners have when making. She leads the course at pace through the day and it's a busy day that is fun and completely absorbing, but still with time for a cuppa and a laugh. If you are a novice or expert , you will come away with a sculpture to be proud of"

"Thank you so much Jo. It was a really fantastic day and I throughly enjoyed myself and came away with a chicken which I am extremely pleased with. Everything was so well organised and planned and the day flew by but we were all able to finish our chicken or pheasant. Plenty of tea and biscuits and a very pleasant environment. I will certainly tell people about the course and maybe you will see me on another one. "

"Thank you so much Jo for a fabulous day, it was so much fun and I came away with a pheasant....yay. I would thoroughly recommend this course, never done anything like it before but that didn't matter. Everything was set up before our small groups arrival, kettle was on and biscuits out 👍🏻Jo was warm and welcoming and put us all at ease, she demonstrated each of the initial steps and then let our individuality flow...gently guiding us if inspiration lacked at times. The whole day was a joy and flew by too quickly. I feel inspired to add to my pheasant now....thank you Jo xxxxx"

"I can’t thank you enough for such a brilliant course. I attended with my mum today, and we loved every second, such a friendly and informative session and we ended up taking home our own ‘interpretation’ of a chicken and a pheasant. We were guided through every step, and were given help with every stage. There was ample willow to create a masterpiece. We were also supplied with plenty of hot drinks and biscuits. The group size was small which meant we had the help we needed. Our masterpieces at the end were ours to keep. Mine has taken pride at the front of my house! Thank you so so much, such a wonderful day, a memory I will treasure. I really 💯 rate this fantastic day out x"
