"Wood turning with Paul was a delightful experience. He strikes a great balance between stepping in to make sure that you’re safe and know what you’re doing and stepping back to let you get on with it when he sees you’re on the right track. This really helps you build confidence as you work through the different tasks and cuts he teaches. In the half day session we took a square practice block, turned it into a cylinder, and learned how to make concave and convex cuts. We then repeated the process with another block also drilling the middle out to create a vase. Walking away with a lovely little vase was the perfect end to a great session. I would recommend this experience for anyone young or old who wants to start a new hobby, or is just curious about how ornate furniture was made."

Yes you could spend the fee (and more) on purchasing a custom built bow by one of the many suppliers but now I feel confident to have a go making one at home and they’ll be there for you if you need any advice/help with your bow or new skills"

"As a complete novice this gave me everything that I need to start wedding. The course, for obvious reasons, started with some safety discussions before we moved on to a practical demo followed by loads practice with arc welding. The afternoon concentrated on MMA welding and followed the same structure as the morning session. David is an excellent instructor both with the briefing/demo sessions and with one-to-one guidance during the practical elements. He obviously has loads of experience and would be able to start/improve the skills of any attendee. This was a very worthwhile and enjoyable course that covered all the bases without feeling rushed in any way. Highly recommended."

"Did not really know what to expect but it was a really good course. Processes clearly explained and demonstrated. When you are having a go in a well prepared booth there is constant support, encouragement and guidance. Never felt that we were other than supported and guided throughout the day. The setting could not be more beautiful- a clearing in the woods surrounded by ferns and serenaded by kites. At the end of a full day, you come away with a basket that is both a thing of beauty and wholly functional. I will certainly be coming back, again and again. "
