Copper wire jewellery Workshop, Madeley, Cheshire

Description

You will be making at least one piece of jewellery and get to know some useful tools, tips and different types of wires you can use for your project. You'll learn to form some simple shapes such as angles to make geometric shapes as well as swirls and textures. I will show you how to work with copper and how to clean and polish it. There is a choice of small gemstones or beads to use in your project or bring your own beads and jewellery to upcycle. Everything you make will be unique to you :) IMPORTANT - Please ensure prompt arrival time. You are welcome to come 10 minutes early for a drink and to get to know the resources and tools you'll be working with and discuss your project. I aim to reply to your messages within 24 hours so if you can't find my reply please check your junk mail. A bit about me: I just love working with all sorts crafts, designing DIY bespoke pieces for the home and I try to upcycle as much as possible to be kinder to our planet and produce beautiful handcrafted pieces. I studied Art and Design over 25 years ago at my local college, then became a member of the North Staffs Guilds of Craftsmen where I had the opportunity to display my work as well as give demonstrations. I am a fully qualified tutor and am keen to 'boost up' your creative skills in this most enjoyable craft. What's included in the price?

Copper wires of different thicknesses. Use of tools - a range of pliers, files and cutters, anvil and hammers, tape measures, paper and pencils for design ideas. A selection of copper wirework books for inspiration. Additional beads, ear ring wires, keyring chains etc can be purchased here. Beverages and light snacks. There is also an optional bed and breakfast accommodation if you are travelling from afar or want a longer session :)

"Heya Seema, In my workshops there are plenty of tools to use and discuss uses for your experience but you don't need to invest in too many to kickstart your business, I'm so glad you can now incorporate new techniques to your personal designs. You were very focussed on each aspect I taught you which is brilliant, and a good idea it to keep a small notebook of simple designs, gauges of wire and measurements used for if you need to make parts regularly such as ear wires and findings.
