Description
Join professional artist Lisa-marie at Creative Avenue York to create a unique and personal Mosaic in a day! This beginners / improvers workshop will guide you through the creative process of mosaic making from selecting tessarae through to cutting, positioning and building a pleasing design. There will be templates, images and exemplar to inspire you or you can create a bespoke design of your own. Those with some experience can further their skills practicing different cutting techniques and placement of tiles such as keystoning and andemento. During this enjoyable workshop you will produce a Mosaic panel utilising an extensive range of beautiful glass and ceramic tessarae , as well as vintage china and other decorative inclusions. If you have a piece of china, seaglass or dress jewellery you would like to incorporate please bring it along! You can choose to use waterproof board and grout so it is equally suitable for the garden or a house number if desired. Some pre-cut MDF shapes are also available. The grouting process will be demonstrated and then you can take clear instructions and your choice of grout home with you to complete with confidence. Lisa-marie is a friendly and enthusiastic practitioner, an exhibiting Mosaic Artist and a member of BAMM (British Association of Modern Mosaic) with 20+ years teaching experience. Quality materials and equipment are included in the ticket price of £70. Please bring your own packed lunch, or alternatively pop to the nearby shop. Tea, coffee and cake always available! This is held at my Home Studio near York, max 6 places for 1-1 attention. Street Parking.
