Introduction to Epoxy resin block casting (morning)

X

Description

This course is an introduction to casting a block with Epoxy resin and you will produce your very own unique resin work of art. Suitable for turning, arts and crafts and knife making these blocks are as useful, and they are pretty.

I am a bladesmith, who has made my own handles for years combining live edge wood, pinecones and other materials with resin to create bespoke one of a kind pieces. I will share my knowledge, methods and tips with you to help you make something you will be proud of.

Perfect for anyone interested in starting to cast resin, bladesmiths and makers wanting a one of a kind material for their next project. You can even make your own block and then use it on my kitchen knife course, as a handle for your own handmade chef's knife.

You will get to design your own block from a selection of stabilised live edge woods and pine cones. To help ensure your design is perfect you can choose from over 40 colour options that include pearls, neon's, metallic powders and transparent colours. There is even an option to have your block glow in the dark!

Please note epoxy resin is pressure cast and can take 48 hours to fully cure, I will dress your block for you and post it out once its fully hardened. This is included in the cost of your course.

Alternatively, if you want to make a knife with me the block will be prepared into knife handle scales for you.
