This course is an introduction to casting a block using Epoxy Resin and you will produce your very own unique resin work of art. Perfect for anyone interested in starting to cast resin also bladesmiths and makers wanting a one of a kind material for their next project.
Suitable for turning, arts and crafts and knife making these blocks are as useful as they are pretty.
I am a bladesmith who has made my own handles for years combining live edge wood, pinecones and other materials with resin to create bespoke one of a kind pieces. I will share my knowledge, methods and tips with you to help you make something you will be proud of.
You will get to design your own block from a selection of stabilised live edge woods and pine cones. To help ensure your design is perfect you can choose from over 40 colour options that include pearls, neon's, metallic powders and transparent colours. There is even an option to have your block glow in the dark!
Please note epoxy resin is pressure cast and can take 48 hours to fully cure. Once it is fully hardened I will demould your block for you and post it out, this is included in the cost of your course. Should you wish to use your block as a display piece there is an optional service I offer where I will finish and polish your block for you for £10.
You can even make your own block and then use it on my kitchen knife course as a handle for your own handmade chef's knife.

Great expert advice from David, friendly and professional.
Had lots of resources to share so that you could get started with your own projects at home, and also allows you to try out different ideas in the work shop which I appreciated.
Cant wait to see how the project turns out!
