Jean reviewed: Rag Rug Full Day Workshop - Brighton

"For her birthday I treated my daughter to a day's Rag Rugging together in Brighton on 7.10.23. We were made to feel very welcome, were very well looked after with refreshments all day and enjoyed the relaxed "homely" feel Elspeth's flat offered us. Tutor Emily was excellent - we all quickly learnt the three techniques, with ample time to practice while each creating our own sunflower. Emily gave us lots of ideas and advice for follow up pieces, which I can't wait to start at home when time permits! A lovely friendly, productive, creative day spent with like minded people."

Ragged Life Ltd responded:

"That is great to hear, thank you Jean for such a lovely review. You were both a pleasure to teach :-)"

Luisella Strona reviewed: Powertex and stone art owl

"Fantastic class, and superb teacher! I book Powertex and stone art owl for a group of 4. After looking, I decided I would like to do the book cover instead, and Jan was happy to accommodate the chance. She is great at teaching, and great at putting people at ease. The youngest member of our group was very worried, and she was upset because she thought she was doing a different project. Jan immediately switched her project, and helped her to build her confidence. She was really happy at the end of the course. I'll definitely recommend the course, and I will be back at the first opportunity. "

Feline Fixins Powertex Fun responded:

"Thank you so much Luisella for this lovely review. It was a pleasure to help you all achieve your brilliant projects. You are welcome back anytime. xx"

John Butterworth reviewed: Spoon Carving with Touchwood Glasgow

"I was looking forward to this course but it easily exceeded my expectations. Ostensibly it's about spoons but it's also about a lot more - types of wood, choice of tools and how to handle them etc., all of which is useful in woodcarving generally. Robert's calm and attentive demeanour ensures that you leave feeling that you've spent a very productive day learning something which is certain to be of future benefit."

Nicola Wood reviewed: Seaglass jewellery workshop at Sea & Solder, Dorset.

"The course with Jules was inspiring. You arrive and can’t quite believe you will be able to make such a beautiful piece of jewellery in one day. She broke it down onto easy segments and no one was left behind. I was also surprised at how unique all our pieces were by the time we had finished. I was able to use a piece of my own sea glass and made a beautiful sail shaped pendant. Something I will treasure along with the memories of the day! I can’t recommend this day with Sea &Solder enough! "

It was a great experience. I would definitely recommend it! Looking forward to seeing my pieces after they've been fired!"

Morag reviewed: Wood turning - One day course

"What an experience! Anna explained everything step by step because, as a complete beginner, I needed that. The day went quickly. Step by step Anna demonstrated, then after each step, it was my turn. I was guided unobtrusively, while being allowed to get a feel for the tools and wood. The one to one tuition, meant it all went at my pace, and I did not feel I was keeping others back. Anna is so patient, reassuring, clearly loves her profession and made me feel relaxed. I was so proud of my finished bowl! I hope to be able to take part in more Woodturning classes run by Anna, and even feel I would enjoy being part of a small group for beginners. "

Anna L Nichols Furniture responded:

"Glad you had a good time "

Jan reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"Just back from a fabulous day Hare-making. Jo is an excellent tutor, clear explanations and offering really helpful support throughout the day, nothing was rushed either. Really pleased with my medium hare, worth the upgrade for such a statement piece. What a lovely spot in her garden for the studio too. Totally inspiring day, thank you very much."

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Jan! Lovely to have you both in the studio making your medium sized hares which you finished in the fabulous dark copper patina. The blue patina will change depending on the weather if you display them in the garden. How fortunate with the warm October weather! Hope to see you again, Jo x"
