Mike Eriksson reviewed: Introduction to spooncarving at Hill End

"I recently attended this course, and I can't recommend it highly enough. There was clear and concise information and guidance all through the day. You were taken through all the stages of making your spoon without ever feeling either overwhelmed with information or rushed. All the tools and materials you needed were there and you could try different knives and methods to find what worked for you. David (and his wife) was extremely generous with their knowledge and time. I came away with something that definitely is a spoon - anyone who can guide me towards that goal knows what they're doing!"

David Knight Woodland Crafts responded:

"Hi Mike, thanks so much for your positive comments. It was a great pleasure to host you and Hannah and I hope you'll continue making useful and beautiful wooden objects- and its an opportunity to invest in some good Swedish steel! All best. David"

Mary Hansford reviewed: Introduction to English Willow Basket Making- Weekend Course

"Had a fantastic weekend basket making with Jonathon, he had a great energy that was infectious and made everyone relaxed and open. I found his method of teaching really great as it can't be easy supporting a room of novices, but he managed it with ease and everyone was very happy with our end results. Can't wait to do some more."

Stephen Williams reviewed: Stained glass one day

"Great day. I learned so much and surprised myself at being able to create a small stained glass “jewelled” window to grace my gothic garden folly, with help and expert guidance from Nina. The studio/workshop is comfortable and well equipped and Nina is clearly a master (mistress?) of her craft. She is a superb teacher and has a cheerful and engaging personality which made the whole experience fun and rewarding. I can’t wait to receive my completed window once it’s been cemented and burnished by Nina. Thank you for a terrific day. Oh, and great cake!"

Clearsands Stained Glass responded:

"Thanks Stephen, a fab day teaching you and I can't wait to see your piece in place in your folly! Very enjoyable day teaching you and everyone in the group."

"Took a friend with me to do the whole day taster sessions. Had a fantastic time doing all three of the activites on offer. Enamelling, stained glass and glass fusing - all went very well - probably need more practice as would like to try lots of different ideas and techniques. Made some pendants as presents and one for myself and a Christmas tree hanging decoration which I am looking forward to seeing how it turned out when I collect it soon. We were provided with a lovely lunch and Sarah was so welcoming and friendly. Can definitely recommend these activities. "

"A thoroughly enjoyable week-end. Sarah was a very welcoming teacher. She gave support and advice equally to “old-hands” and total beginners, , answering our questions throughout the course, encouraging spontaneity without patronising and giving us the freedom to express our artistic emotions. It was fun to meet different people but with similar interest. Highly recommended. "

Lynn reviewed: Learn traditional upholstery

"Last week, I completed a course of four sessions with Peter. During that time I refurbished what Peter told me was a gout stool. Although it was a comparitively small project, Peter introduced me, a complete novice, to the different tools, materials and techniques required. It was a fun learning experience. Peter demonstrated great patience in making sure I was doing things correctly and it was a pleasure to have him as a teacher. Once I find my next 'interesting project' I shall be back for further guidance."

Peter White Furniture responded:

"Thank you Lyn. It was a pleasure to teach you. I hope you are now enjoying your newly upholstered stool. I look forward to working with you on your new project. "
