Jo Dickens reviewed: Introduction to Green Wood Furniture Making - 2 Day Course in South Devon

"We went on a two day course with friends. A lovely way to learn a new skill, have some fun, relax and forget about the stresses of everyday life and spend time with friends. The course was very well run, in a friendly and informal way. Peter and David got the right balance between instruction and letting us have a go, and we all came home with furniture that we love and are proud of. Full of enthusiasm for our new skills and we would definitely recommend the course to anyone."

"A thoroughly enjoyable day. Andy clearly explains how to do the turning and then under his expert guidance you get plenty of time on the lathe. I would really recommend this as a day for anyone wanting to get to grips with turning. I made a bowl which was really nice and great to come away with a memento of the day. Martine gives you a lovely lunch. Highly recommended - go for it."

Pippa Craske reviewed: Four day intensive beginners woodwork course

"Loved every minute! Ciaran’s teaching style is relaxed and encouraging, I learnt so much. When I thought I was struggling with a technique, Ciaran gave me hints and tips and never rushed me, letting me get there in my own time. I really appreciated his tutoring style and sense of humour! I was a total novice but now have the confidence to pick up a chisel/ plane or saw, knowing how to use and look after them....properly!"

Stephanie bancroft reviewed: Glass blowing for beginners with Jon Lewis

"I would recommend this course for anyone who wants to try something different or for anyone looking for a great present for someone else. Only 3 on the course so lots of time for each of us to have a go and we learnt from watching each other. Jon is extremely patient and keeps the atmosphere down to earth and relaxed even though the glass blowing itself is an intense and totally absorbing experience. The finished objects are beautiful and unique."

"Many thanks Barbara for an excellent day. Lots of helpful tips and a wonderful array of wools and silks to choose from. "I’ve just spent the morning in Kerry’s kitchen (Can to Candles) making my very own candle. It was a really lovely relaxed atmosphere and I met some lovely people. Kerry was really knowledgable and helpful during the workshop and also provided us with candle making notes to take away. I would totally recommend this workshop and look forward to hearing about new ones planned. I feel so inspired to make my own now!"

Michaela Bell reviewed: A relaxing day of clay making

"This was just the most lovely afternoon spent with Trisha in her pottery. I hadn’t touched clay since I was very small and I immediately fell in love with it again. I can’t remember the last time I felt so relaxed and pampered. Trisha is a fabulous host (and cook!!!) and she creates a wonderfully warm and welcoming atmosphere. I am so looking forward to glazing the bits and pieces I made. HUGE thumbs up from me :)"

Charlotte Cozier reviewed: Firebird Forge Blacksmithing School

"I recently had a great day with my husband in Mort's forge. Mort was so patient with us and I managed to make a cracking trivet which is now has pride of place in my kitchen. It was just the two of us for the day (and Mort's lovely pooches snoozing in their basket!) so we had lots of attention and couldn't have asked for a more hands on experience. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a unique day and would love to go again."

David More O’Ferrall reviewed: Four day intensive beginners woodwork course

"After 27 years of corporate life and countless courses, this stands out as the best course by far, partly because woodworking was something I have a personal interest in but also because of the excellent instructor, Ciarán, as well as the stunning location and fantastic lunches at the White Lion. Highly recommended"

Graham reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"Well I never realised there was so much to candles. Kerry not only explained the science behind different waxes and fragrances she told us how to get the best out of any candle. We all produced our own candle, with the fragrance of our choice and were able to take it away after the session. The workshop ( Kerry's kitchen) had just been featured in 'Period Living' and was a joy to be in. Kerry made sure we were all happily fed with her home made cake and had plenty of tea/coffee on hand."

Candle making Workshop reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"So pleased to come away with a perfect scented candle in a glass! Delicious cake and coffee in Kerry's lovely kitchen, and lots of information on how to make, and look after your candle. If you do it right, it will last for 50 hours! Impatient, as I have to wait a week before using it! As well as Kerry's own candles and related products, there are great starter kits available to buy and take home, all at special student prices!"

Christmas Glass Course for Kids reviewed: Kids Glass Making for Valentine or Mothers Day

"This course was brilliant - and I've recommended Glassification to plenty of friends Kate Orwin, the course leader, had all the children under control and completely wrapped up in their projects. They produced 4 items each - all of which I would say were "shop standard" My daughter has already asked when the next course is... and several adult friends are keen to do one too. 10/10!"

Steve Woodcock reviewed: Beginner's Candle Making Private Workshop - Marlow, Buckinghamshire

"Ok, l know I am a bloke, but I had a great time with 8 ladies at Sarah's class! Sarah packed loads in, including cake and coffee, and is both a really good communicator and enthusiast. I learned loads, came home with some great candles and am now going off to make my own candles. Really can recommend this, such a nice and rewarding way to spend a morning. Her book makes a great aide memoire too."
