Susan Goodfellow reviewed: Introduction to Making Books

"I really enjoyed the workshop - getting the chance to learn techniques of bookmaking in such a friendly and supportive environment was great. Marion is a good teacher, pays attention to detail and ensures that everyone taking part is able to participate fully in the experience. And we all left with gorgeous notebooks and the experience of making them from beginning to end. Very satisfying!"

Jane Henshaw reviewed: Weekend upholstery courses - Oxfordshire & Berkshire Borders

"I had an excellent first experience of upholstery on Philip's course. The weekend was relaxed and enjoyable with some lovely company, as well as being a great learning experience. Not only did I find out about how to tackle the projects I went along with, but also learnt about techniques needed for other people's projects, and with the variety of different projects around the room gained an insight into several techniques. I was very pleased with the outcome I achieved which for a complete beginner was not a given! I look forward to being able to attend another course."

Jean Stephenson reviewed: Fabulous felt picture 2 day masterclass near York

"I looked forward to this Masterclass for months and it didn't disappoint. Bridget made everyone very welcome and the other 5 ladies were lovely. Bridget is an excellent teacher and gave everyone individual attention throughout. I learned a lot of new techniques which I am keen to practise. Everybody seemed to create a lovely picture and I was certainly pleased with the one I did - Although I had some prior experience of felting I could never have done it without Bridget's expert tuition and guidance. I would also recommend the nearby The Ship Inn I intend to book again next winter"

Bridget Bernadette Karn Studio/Shop responded:

"A warm and friendly class. Charlie explains the process of throwing really well. For a first time thrower I managed to produce cylinders good enough to make a mug, with Charlie's help I even had a go at pulling a handle. A thoroughly enjoyable day."

Shelagh Fraser reviewed: Introduction to Making Books

"I attended this course some time ago and have to say it’s the best and most informative workshop I have been to. Marion, the instructor, is very generous of her time and knowledge, making sure that everyone understands what they are doing before going on to explain each and every step. You come away with some lovely notebooks and a feeling of pride and satisfaction with what you have made. Well worth attending and can’t wait to learn more techniques."

Tiffany reviewed: Gelli Plate Printing Workshop by Clare Cosens

"What a wonderful workshop. Clare is brilliant (and very patient!). She showed us the various techniques we could use and then we each had a separate Gelli Plate to play with with lots of different materials. Clare helped each of us to refine our prints so we not only played with designs but learnt a lot too. I have now got myself a Gelli Plate and am loving implementing what I have learnt onto mixed media and journal designs. Thanks Clare!"

Wilma Anderson reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"Received this as a Christmas voucher from my husband, and one of the best presents he has bought me. Such a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning, with great company, coffee, cake and learning how to make candles. Really well organised, friendly and have learned everything I need to know about making candles. This included all the do's and don'ts, where to find all the products you need and notes to take away. I am inspired and have already started on the road to making my own candles ."

"Truly Fantastic day!! I got this as a Christmas present and it was the best i've ever gotten. Mort is every easy going and interesting to talk to even taking us to the pub for lunch half way through the day and really went the extra mile so we left with what we intended to make despite our lacking skill. I will be making this a biannual thing for every birthday and Christmas to come."

"I was lucky to be gifted a voucher from my partner, and spent a very enjoyable afternoon with Julie, and am very proud of my first piece of fused glass art! Julie encourages and advises - but doesn't take over - and has great knowledge of what may work and what definitely won't! She has helped me make the decision to start being more crafty in this area - and I'm looking forward to working with her more. Definitely the best gift I could have been given!"
