"I started carving over six years ago with a beginners weekend course I enjoyed it so much and was made so very welcome I just keep going back. Gerald is not only one of the nicest people I have ever met he is also an outstanding wood carver and excellent teacher, his knowledge of wood is just amazing. Wood carving under Gerald's tuition is one of the best things I have ever enjoyed."

Noreen Lillie reviewed: 2 Day felting course with naturally dyed fleece, Wild Rose Escapes, Highlands, Scotland

"My friend and I attended the weekend felting course and both really enjoyed it. Rosie is an excellent and knowledgeable teacher, with exactly the right balance of input and encouragement to go with your own creation. I learned a lot in a short time and would feel confident enough to try to do some wet felting on my own. I hadn't expected to make something so large (a wall hanging) and loved the fact that there was an unlimited amount of beautiful natural hand dyed fleece to experiment with. We had a lovely lunch both days, sitting outside at the end of October in the beautiful Cannich countryside. Thank-you Rosie, would definitely recommend this course."

Alana reviewed: Blacksmith Experience Day - Anvil Forge

"My partner and I went on this course as a birthday treat and would highly recommend it. We picked this blacksmithing experience because you could choose to work on your own projects in the afternoon. We made a number plate for our house which worked out perfectly with the team's support. They encouraged us to be more ambitious and helped us to also make a garden sculpture. I found the team really supportive across the whole day. It was also great fun meeting the others on the course and seeing what they worked on."

Dave Darby reviewed: Wood turning courses

"First impressions are always important and the greeting from George and his wife on my arrival made the day. I learnt so much during the day course. The structure of timber made me better understand the correct way to use turning tools, the profile of gouges, some work to be done with the sharpening system on my bowl gouge and the finishing of work with abrasives, sanding systems and applying finishes. Most of all safety. I now realise I must rethink my approach to working with my lathe and how, I had in the past have put myself in danger on occasions. Christmas is not too far off and I can think of a couple of tools demonstrated will definitely be on my wish list; whether anyone will take notice is debatable. I'm hoping to get to work turning next week, family permitting; grandchildren return to school on Monday but I still have other commitments to taking up some my time. Retirement keeps me busy. Dave Darby."

Matt Perkins reviewed: Half day: 3 Leather Accessories

"What a great way to spend a morning with my teenage son. We both enjoy making things and courses are excellent for learning about a craft. The half-day course with Rosanna certainly exceeded my expectations. I wanted to make myself a leather wallet, learn saddle stitching and enjoy time with my son. All three outcomes were achieved with Rosanna's highly effective teaching and positive personality. She quickly adapted to what we both wanted and offered clear and helpful advice. Her tuition was easy to follow and the results achieved were more professional than I would have thought possible. I would happily attend another one of her workshops and highly recommend her to those who want to learn how to make leather goods in a positive, enjoyable and very friendly environment."

Michelle Williamson reviewed: Introducing Macrame Knots and Intricate Designs

"I had a lovely experience learning Macrame with Mary. I travelled down from Derby with my boyfriend and Mary made us feel so welcome. I learn't a lot and have started making my own jewellery straight away. Mary is kind and patient and really knows her stuff! She had also taken the time to pick out jewellery ideas and suggestions from books she already had and gave me great advice on where I can buy the supplies I need. Would certainly go back again to learn more with Mary."

Tracey reviewed: Introduction to green wood furniture making - two days

"A thoroughly enjoyable and instructive course and a bargain at the price. It has inspired me to make more green wood pieces at home and I'm very tempted to try the table course. Peter is a refreshing instructor with many years of experience to draw on. Beware, it's rather addictive and you'll find yourself perusing tool catalogues before you know."

"What a fabulous morning! Sarah is an excellent teacher and communicator. I felt extremely welcome and was put at ease from the moment I arrived. Her garden worship is extremely organised and equipped. All the skills and tools were carefully explained and demonstrated, and every step felt within my grasp. I am thrilled with my two rings which compliment each other by having two different finishes. I think I am hooked and will be looking to develop my knowledge and skills. I would highly recommend this course, it is brilliant value."

Jo Moser reviewed: Glass Fusing for beginners

"Totally recommend this course. I'm not great at craft work, but Gigha is a patient, wonderful teacher encouraging you to be ambitious and creative and do as much as you can yourself but stepping in when things look like they need rescuing! Lovely to be able to produce the whole thing from initial drawing (taking inspiration from all the beautiful things Gigha has made) to final touches with a bit of help! Came home with a beautiful tea light holder. Thanks Gigha x"
