Tori reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"What a great day I had last week with Lucy. I wanted to learn as much as I could about making jewellery from silver and that's exactly what I did. The amount of knowledge that Lucy has is amazing! She was able to assist me with everything that I wanted to make, bringing all of my ideas to life, in silver form. I could not recommend Lucy and her beautiful studio enough."

Lisa Curtis-Lacey reviewed: Machine made lined curtains

"I have just had a fantastic day learning how to make curtains. Janet was very friendly and welcoming and had a kind and patient manner. She took me step-by-step through the curtain-making process, helping me with the bits I found tricky. Regular cups of tea and a delicious homemade lunch really topped off the day. At the end of the session, I felt very proud to come home with a curtain I had made myself and I now feel confident enough to make curtains for my own home. Thank you for such an enjoyable day, Janet."

Cathy Marjoram reviewed: Corset making: Victorian / Beginners

"I've always wanted to know how to make a corset, and now, having gone on Lisa's excellent course, I do. We had a jolly time and produced a very professional looking corset by the end of the weekend. Lisa is a lovely teacher. She gives clear instructions which she's happy to repeat if necessary. She's calm and patient, but also funny and entertaining. By the end of the weekend I felt confident enough to try to make a corset by myself at home. Thoroughly recommend this course - you won't be disappointed!"

Ken Gosling reviewed: One to one, One day, blacksmith course

"Spent a very enjoyable day being shown blacksmithing techniques by a knowledgeable and interesting teacher. Alex gave precise demonstrations of each technique required for the finished article and then let you copy these on to your own work giving advise and help when required. I was involved with the whole manufacture with Alex`s guidance from design to finished product and very pleased with the result which now has pride of place in my garden as a permanent reminder of a brilliant day spent in the forge. I highly recommend this course to anybody interested in decorative ironwork. Thanks Alex"

Josie Stewart reviewed: Wire & mixed media sculpture courses with James Ort

"What a wonderful to spend a couple of days! James is an excellent teacher, brimming with ideas and enthusiasm but also very down to earth. I was not sure what to expect from the weekend except maybe to feel a little out of my depth. Other than junk modelling with the children (a long time ago) I have had absolutely no experience of art or craft classes. The class was incredibly relaxed and friendly, I found the whole weekend immensely rewarding and inspiring. I am sure everyone left feeling absolutely delighted with their ‘masterpieces’ , I certainly was. I really couldn’t recommend this course highly enough. Absolutely no experience required just a little self-belief and imagination. Will definitely go back."

Penny de Quincey reviewed: Fabulous felt picture 2 day masterclass near York

"I arrived as an absolute novice and left with a picture I could never have dreamed of making - and all the information I need to finish it off at home. Bridget is warm and encouraging, generously sharing her skills and knowledge. I loved this course and would recommend it to anyone who wants to explore the process, regardless of their experience. Above all - it was great fun!"

Andrew J reviewed: Make a Windsor-style stool

"Thoroughly enjoyed the course - learnt a lot about working with wood and using traditional wood tools (and pleased to say I still remember the names of many of them). I also liked the fact we start with green wood (i.e. straight from the tree) and at the end of the course you have crafted an awesome stool (which my kids have put to good use). Keen to sign-up to the chair course next."

Wendy reviewed: Evening Watercolour 10-week art course for beginners and amateur artists

"I enjoyed the day very much learning a new technique working with wool. It was very relaxing and inspiring. I am a complete beginner in wool painting and Raya took her time to show and explain every step. I had lots of support and encouragement and created a lovely wool painting which I am so proud of. I am definitely coming back for more workshops at Magic Wool Studio. Thank you, Raya. Wendy"

Chris Vine reviewed: Box or tub making

"My leatherwork journey only started in the last year and most of my knowledge had been gained from Nigel’s excellent Youtube tutorials. So he was a natural choice for a one to one tuition. I have almost exclusively have been using pricking irons, to the detriment of gaining awl skills. So I knew Nigel’s tub making course, requiring angling the awl to stitch the end pieces, was going to be ambitious and a challenge for my skill level! The course was structured perfectly for my ability but the day turned out to be much more than a tub making course. Advice was given in a number of areas to improve my techniques and, casting an eye over my toolbox, improvements made to some of my tools. I came away with confidence, inspiration and sufficient understanding to now spend time honing my tub making skills. Nigel’s an excellent, patient teacher and freely imparts his wealth of knowledge. A superb day. Thanks."
