Sowmya Vikram (Crochet Hobbit) reviewed: Brush Calligraphy

"My long time wish of learning Calligraphy from a professional artist was finally fulfilled. I resonated with all that Asha (the tutor) brought into her work - her artistic sensibilities, style, love for handmade work, and the quality of the materials used. The group size was limited and the atmosphere warm, it was very well orchestrated so our initial doubts of whether we'd be able to make it soon disappeared and we were found enjoying ourselves. Being a craft tutor myself, it was wonderful to be a student and to learn this exquisite form of writing from a natural artist like Asha. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn and be inspired, but remember to practice every day :)"

Christian reviewed: One to one, One day, blacksmith course

"My one day blacksmith course was brought by my wife as a 40th birthday present and was something that I wanted to have a go at for some time. Alex shared his years of knowledge over a day with me and taught me some amazing blacksmithing skills. His instructions were very clear and informative and he guided me through each step to make a Skulls head fire poker. Although the item I made was challenging at times the results were amazing. Alex is a very friendly and patient teacher who I wouldn’t hesitate at working with again in the future. Many thanks Alex for an amazing day at Chalk Pit Forge."

Graeme reviewed: Introduction to green woodworking

"Attended the course at the weekend and found it to be excellent. The teaching was of very high quality. However, it was Mike's knowledge of woodland and trees that really made the difference! I met some great people, in a really nice environment. I hope to attend future courses by Mike in the near future. Graeme"

Ella Richards reviewed: One day silver jewellery designing and making workshop

"I had a fantastic day making a pendant with Bridget. Before the course Bridget was very clear about what the day would entail, and ensuring that she had everything needed to make my design. Bridget is a dedicated teacher and really took the time to talk through options for shaping and finishing the silver, and showed lots of her own work to demonstrate techniques. I would really recommend this course. Thank you for a lovely day Bridget."

Ann Cowell reviewed: Landscapes in Fleece

"Have just returned home after a session with SallyAnne making an obelisk. As a complete beginner was totally unsure what the course would be like. All I can say is that I had a thoroughly enjoyable day. I attended with my friend also a complete novice but with SallyAnnes help and encouragement we both made obelisks that we are very proud of. She is a lovely lady who is extremely passionate about her craft. Nothing was too much trouble and she guided us throughout the whole process. If anyone is thinking of doing a course with SallyAnne but is unsure get yourself booked you will have a great day and also come home with an object you will be pleased to show off to your friends and family. Thank you SallyAnne I hope to come back soon."

Mary Cleaton reviewed: Green Woodwork and Pole Lathe day

"A hugely informative and enjoyable day. Chris is an excellent teacher - very patient and able to transmit not only the 'how' but the 'why' of what you're doing so that you truly learn rather than just going through the motions. He assists when necessary but always lets you retain ownership of your piece, go at your own pace and get sufficient practice in each step. His workshop is well-stocked and he has a selection of each type of tool which you can use in order to learn more about your tool preferences. Overall, a most excellent teacher with a well designed course. The beautiful, tranquil setting and the absolutely delicious home-made food were an extra bonus. I would thoroughly recommend this."

Heather Robinson reviewed: Two day mosaic course with Joy Sturgess in Scarborough, North Yorkshire

"I really enjoyed my two day mosaic course with Joy. Joy was knowledgable, kind and generous with her sharing of knowledge and experience, as well as her willingness to assist. Although I had worked with mosaic in the direct method, the indirect method was really interesting to learn and a very different approach to the way I was used to working. I highly recommend spending time with Joy making mosaics, it is such a relaxing, therapeutic, and enjoyable way to spend the day."

Marianne Potgieter reviewed: Pottery Course in Orpington, Kent

"The Clay room UK provides a wide variety of ceramic courses at a very high standard. Classes are offered form a beautiful studio in Kent with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Ample parking available. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of lessons received. There is lots of space for throwing and hand building - there is also a sociable aspect to the classes where I have met so many lovely and creative people. Sophie's ceramic expertise is second to none and she is always happy to share her knowledge. I highly recommend the Clay Room UK's classes. You don't need to have any prior knowledge of pottery etc. come and try it!"
