Henry Wallace reviewed: Forge a Knife- Blacksmithing and Knifemaking Experience Day

"Excellent day spent making a Japanese style cleaver with Jon - his expertise and knowledge really shone through and helped us to make a really unique but functional tool over the course of the day. Jon was incredibly friendly and kind and made sure that the day passed without issue, rectifying any mistakes we made but making sure that we were still fully in control of how the knife turned out. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking into it."

Kirstian reviewed: Fused glass workshop at The Butterfly Effect Studio near Halford

"Really enjoyed this day long glass fusing class. I left with a wide range of items made and ready to be fired. I had tried fusing in the past but was able to try new techniques and really loved the laid back atmosphere. My friend attended and we had a great catch up whilst being creative and enjoying tea and lovely cake!"

Butterfly Effect Studio responded:

"Hi Kirstian, thank you for taking the time to submit this review and I’m delighted you both enjoyed it. I hope your family are also enjoying using their beautiful handmade dishes, they were beautifully unique. I agree, the homemade cake was delicious (but sadly not homemade by me!) but glad you enjoyed that too, just a little something to keep creativity flowing!"

Corinna Miller reviewed: Forge a Knife- Blacksmithing and Knifemaking Experience Day

"My husband did this course as I gifted it to him for his birthday. His review is as follows: Jon gave me lots of options on what kind of knife to make, which was great. We worked hard all day and he was very informative and skilled. His wife's cooking was delicious and plentiful and we definitely worked up an appetite! Jon was a great teacher, amazingly patient with me, and helpful at every turn. Plus, he was just a great guy to chat with! Unbelievable experience! Highly recommend it to everyone interested."

Helen Lord reviewed: Spoon Carving Taster Session

"Had a great time at the Radical Bakers Festival in Shropshire last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed carving a spoon with Mike. He was excellent as a teacher, very patient and very thorough in his demonstration of different carving techniques and very much with health and safety in mind at all times. I had a great time and now have a new-found admiration for the makers of the humble wooden spoon. I never knew so much work went in to making one. Thank you Mike."

Louise Miller reviewed: Felt Making Paintings

"I was bought this class as a mother's day present from my son. I have done some felting before and needed help to progress with my skills. Despite also having a complete beginner in on the same day, Jo tailored her teaching for both our needs and guided us to create our own individual pieces. With lots of different materials available I was able to experiment with textures and fabrics in a way that I can't at home, giving me insight into what I might want to try in future. I left with a piece of work I am very happy with, and some new skills and ideas. A fun and informative class. Thank you Jo"

"This course is energising , fun and immersive, a complete detox after a hard week at work, thank you. Martin structures the day well with demonstrations then lets you get on with it, advising when asked for. As a complete novice and not being particularly arty, he was reassuring and I was delighted with what I managed to complete and inspired with ideas for another workshop. Looking forward to seeing them after they've been fired."
