I completed this course with my stepdaughter (11) and we both absolutely loved it.
Sarah was very friendly, gave so much detail on the science and a clear structure through the making process.
We both made some really beautiful candles. And I’ve already booked to return for the Christmas workshop!
The workshop was awesome. I just loved everything about the workshop including the ambience, the colours, fragrance and above all Sarah's expertise in the subject. Thank you Sarah!!!
Response from Candle by Events:Thank you Jay, really pleased you enjoyed the workshop.
I thoroughly enjoyed this course. Sarah is an excellent tutor, really thorough and I learnt so much. It is also informal and great fun. It is really worth doing whether it is just to learn a new skill or to start a business. Highly recommend.
Response from Candle by Events:Thank you Stephanie, really pleased you enjoyed the workshop.
Enjoyed a lovely morning learning candle making with Sarah. The course was informative and fun. Left with lovely items we made and was also lovely to meet the other ladies on the course. Would definitely recommend. Thank you Sarah.
Response from Candle by Events:Thank you Angela, I am pleased you enjoyed the workshop.
I really enjoyed this introduction to making candles. The kit was posted out on time and was really lovely with everything you needed for the online session as well as going forward with your own candle making. Sarah was very friendly, helpful and it was easy to follow what to do. I was very impressed that Sarah is happy for anyone who has attended to get back in touch with any questions when continuing on with this new hobby. She has already shared lots of useful supplier information and tutorials.
Great workshop, thank you.
Response from Candle by Events:Hi Jessie
A great way to spend a couple of hours with like minded people. Sarah was very knowledgeable about candle making and was very encouraging. My kitchen smelt amazing.
Response from Candle by Events:Thank you Jan, I am delighted you enjoyed the workshop :)
A really brilliant course. It was given to me as a Christmas present and what a fantastic experience!
The kit was very well packed and included everything needed for the session. Sarah was very friendly, her explanations clear, her subject knowledge impressive. We all made a pillar candle, a container candle and rolled three candles with beeswax sheets, so felt a great sense of achievement. We had a homework assignment- to make some tea lights, which I did the following morning.
Now I’m really looking forward to continue with my newfound hobby and make some gifts for my family and friends.
Thank you Sarah.
Response from Candle by Events:Thank you Nadia, so pleased you enjoyed the workshop. Keep in touch and let me know how you get.
I done this course with Sarah and a few other ladies which was great . Sarah made sure we were all sorted with our things and gave explanations into everything. Sarah takes her time telling you instructions and waits until we're all fully aware of what we're doing. Will defo be recommending Sarah thanks again and i hope we can all keep in touch. My 12 year old daughter wants to do it as well so it would be great to do it together.
Response from Candle by Events:Hi Amanda, thank you for your kind comments, glad you and your daughter enjoyed the workshop.
I completed the beginners’ candle making course online via Zoom. It was so much fun and I now have a brand new skill that I can’t wait to keep practising. Sarah was a great teacher, very clear, approachable and patient and she shared her fantastic advice and knowledge with us. Thank you very much!
Response from Candle by Events:Thank you, keep in touch and let me know how you get on!
Excellent course. Very informative and inspirational. Also very relaxing!! Highly recommend Sarah
Response from Candle by Events:Thank you, glad you enjoyed the workshop :)
I had my reservations about signing up for an online craft workshop, but these were soon forgotten once the course started. Sarah's passion for candlemaking is obvious and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I was particularly inspired by Sarah's suggestions on different containers that could be used for candles and a number of bottle tops and other objects have now been upcycled and given a new lease of life.
Response from Candle by Events:Thank you Dave, really pleased you enjoyed the workshop.
I took part in a zoom workshop run by Sarah. She conducted the workshop very professionally. She was also very knowledgable in candle making. Her kit had everything in it and everything was packed well and the wax was all weighted into packages. She guided us step by step how to make each type of candle and gave us some very insightful knowledge on how to pick the right type of wick and how much wax and fragrance to use, and the various types of dye. I had a very enjoyable time learning how to make candles and I would recommend this workshop to anyone who would like to learn a new skill.
She is also very helpful and answers question even after the workshop is over. She does not leave you high and dry to figure out things on your own after the workshop. I am happy to have met her as she has been very helpful in my pursuit to learn the skills of candle making.
Response from Candle by Events:Hi Suzie, thank you for your kind words, really pleased you enjoyed the workshop.
I absolutely loved making these candles! Such fun and the step by step guide was easy to follow and beautifully written!
Not only do you get beautiful homemade candles that you can show off to your friends, you get to learn a fun new skill!
- oh and the snapdragon fragrance is AMAZING!
Vey pleased with my candles and I'll definitely be making more in future!
Response from Candle by Events:So pleased you enjoyed the kit and you found the step by step guide easy to follow :)
Myself and my mum had booked on to a candle course but due to the current pandemic it was obviously cancelled. We took the offer of transferring to this online course and we are so happy we did. We are officially hooked on candle making. The kit comes with all the bits you need and what isn’t in the kit is found around your home for example a measuring jug. A complete printed guide is accompanied by the online videos which gave clear instruction on what we had to do. I cannot wait to try more and play with my new found creative skill. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for an intro in to this craft. Thank you Sarah.
Response from Candle by Events:So glad you enjoyed the online workshop and you have discovered a new hobby :)
Done the online course due to isolation events and am so glad I did. My world has been opened up to candle making!
I’m new to it and want to eventually sell wax tarts. The course covers many variety of candles and the live workshop was fantastic - I felt like I was in the actual workshop with Sarah! I ordered the online candle making which included the kit (which was very generous and everything you need to get started and more).
Sarah is thorough and patient, and I thought it’s great that she has Q&A after every section of the course completed.
Can’t wait to do the advance course.
Thank you Sarah 🕯
The kit was excellent and includes a nice variety - a pillar candle, a fragranced container candle and a rolled beeswax candle, so there are three different projects to learn. Dyes and fragrances are also included as well as a handy pan, for double boiling, and thermometer. Sarah is so generous with her knowledge. I've gone back to her to ask her many more questions since the class and she has always been very happy to help with where to get supplies and how to fix some of the problems I've encountered when experimenting with new candle ideas.
Joined the on-line course 2 weeks ago which was great. Everything arrived perfectly packed prior to the class, and as a complete beginner to candle making I was very excited.
Sarah was great, very friendly and she definitely knows her stuff and how to pass on her knowledge to her pupils. We made 3 different types of candles - container, pillar and rolled beeswax and I was so pleased that they all turned out so well. I have already bought more supplies and am experimenting with different wicks, colours, fragrances and containers. Sarah’s Facebook group has also been really helpful and I’m looking forward to joining more online sessions. Thanks to Sarah I am now hooked on making my own candles.
