Hannah reviewed: Felt picture making workshop in Rugby!

"Karen kindly allowed my 10-year-old daughter to join this small course and it was wonderful. She is a brilliant teacher, has just the right balance between teaching technique and encouraging artistic decision making, and she really inspired my daughter, who left the course very proud of her beautiful piece of art - her first wet felting and something genuinely to be very proud of. The venue is perfect - easy to find and of a very high quality, and a lovely cafe and nature walk around too. Re Covid it just felt perfect - safe, sensible with just a small number of participants and a lovely airy room. Couldn't have asked for more!"

Karen Wyeth Contemporary Felt Artist responded:

"Thank you Hannah for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. Your daughter was a delight to have in the class, I am so pleased she enjoyed it so much"

Joe Hartley reviewed: Weekend landscape painting in watercolours

"Georgina provided a positive learning environment for a group of students with very different levels of experience. She was very good at instilling confidence in every member of the group. I was particularly impressed by the way she shared her thought processes whilst demonstrating techniques. Having had some experience of watercolour painting Georgina provided me with an opportunity to develop new skills and a more structured way of working. This enabled me to reassess past work and gave me ideas for how I might apply some of these techniques to my ceramics in the future."

Georgina Rambton responded:

"Thank you for your review! Im glad you got so much out of the workshop, it was a pleasure to have you as part of the group Joe. Diolch."

"Thoroughly enjoyed this - it gave me the confidence to experiment with acrylics using a much larger paintbrush than I'd have imagined using before, learning how to build up layers of paint with different brush strokes to create an acceptable picture. Louise is a very competent and capable teacher, she explains the process clearly from start to finish and is so inspiring! I'm really looking forward to another workshop!!"

Yvonne Boyle reviewed: Fused glass items at Bonds with Helen from The Butterfly Effect Studio

"I attended a fused glass workshop without knowing what to expect. Helen was excellent at explaining what we needed to do and answered all our questions clearly and simply. She was very patient and attentive and really good at guiding us with helpful suggestions if needed. She is very kind and thoughtful and I had a great time. She put in a great deal of work into our pieces afterwards which meant that they were finished to a very high standard so she clearly puts in a lot of time and effort in behind the scenes. When we finally received our finished pieces they were beautifully packaged. The whole experience was very uplifting and I felt very cared for. I have already gifted a workshop to a family member as an experience I feel deserves to be shared."

Butterfly Effect Studio responded:

"Good morning Yvonne, thank you for such a positive review, I’m very touched. I was so pleased you enjoyed the day and receipt of your stunning finished glass creations once fired. You embraced everything that was demonstrated and then gave it a unique twist- your beautifully delicate soap dish was a triumph! It was fascinating chatting with you and I now look forward to meeting your family member next week. Thanks again."

"I thoroughly recommend this glass fusion workshop. From start to finish, Helen was so informative, patient and encouraging. I rate this with an excellent 5"

"I had a truly wonderful week. Peter is so knowledgeable and he is a patient and skilled teacher. The venue is beautiful, as are the yurt and workshops that he has built. Starting with ash logs, we learnt new skills and we each went home with a beautiful (and functional!) chair that we are so proud of. We also made new friends and eat really well too! Even if you have done no woodwork previously, I would highly recommend this 5 day course."

"A great fun course. Amazingly satisfying taking a few pieces from mother nature, and with only a few hand tools, ending up with a lovely little three legged stool. Amazingly patient tutor, juggling us all at different stages throughout the day. And astonishing how we all ended up something that was totally different to the others. Heartily recommend this for a fab day out, with the advantage of having something useful to take home too."
