Silversmithing beginners workshop: Gemstone stacking rings

Stacking rings are beautiful, versatile and comfortable everyday rings and you'll be able to make these to your exact liking!

During this 4.5-5 hour class you will learn to make two stacking rings: one with a gemstone of your choice and one with a stunning hammered texture.

You will learn to:
Calculate ring sizing
Shape the silver
Set cabochon gemstones
Hammer to texturize

For £65 you will be provided with all the necessary tools, silver and gems to create your lovely rings in a relaxed and super friendly atmosphere.

After the workshops you'll leave not only with your very own handmade rings, but a new set of skills and a new group of friends!

There'll be no rush during the class as everyone learns and works at their own speed, and silversmith Nina will be on hand the whole time to show you the ropes, ply you with tea and biscuits and answer any and all of your questions.

As it runs over lunch time hours, please feel free to bring along some lunch for yourself if you like!

This is a perfect beginners class and the advised starting point for anyone looking to join future classes, which will include spinner rings, bangles, pendants and earring making.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Nina x!

Wow! This was an amazing course! My daughter and I attended this workshop and I can’t rate it highly enough…Nina is an absolute gem, highly knowledgable and lots of fun. We came away with lots of news skills and 2 beautiful rings as gorgeous reminders of our workshop. We enjoyed it so much, Nina very kindly put together a box of tools for us to make more silver with so we can make our own items. We are very much looking forward to working with Nina again!

Went on the Spinner Rings course with a friend to experience something new. Nina is incredibly welcoming and puts you at ease straight away. Working immediately with the basics of ring sizing (with Nina making it so easy!) and getting straight into working with the silver which turned out to be very tactile. It didn’t matter that we had no experience as Nina helped us at every step, explaining just enough to allow you to get through the next part without feeling overwhelmed by details, or rushed to get something done. The time simply flew by and the ring took shape throughout (it was great to see each step making a difference, working towards the finished item).

We had a whale of a time. It was incredibly good fun, easy to lose yourself in the making and not notice the time simply flying by just as having fun with some great friends.

I highly recommend this course and can’t wait to do another with Nina.

No experience? - no problem. Even a complete novice such as me can be learning and creating in no time. Take an idea and with patient and knowledgeable instructions you can come away not only with an individual piece of hand crafted jewellerry, but also a new skill learned and a desire to create more.
Would recommend this fun, informative and worthwhile experience to anyone wanting to explore their creative side.
