About the Course
Anna McDowell's aim is to help to keep alive the tradition of Dorset button-making. She uses original methods to make Dorset buttons using contemporary materials. She also tries out new designs and ways to use the skills of this heritage craft, and new ideas for using these lovely buttons. In this workshop to make a t-shirt bag, students learn how to cut t-shirts into strips of yarn, knit a bag and then make a Dorset button, which can be used as an embellishment and fastener. Students need to bring along a selection of three t-shirts to make the yarn, some sturdy scissors and a pair of 12mm knitting needles. Ability to knit is required.
