Lino Blockprint & Monoprint a fabric bag in Cambridgeshire

Description

Combine mono-print and lino block printing techniques to create your own bespoke fabric bag. You will learn how to mono-print simple designs onto fabric to create backgrounds, and then design, and make simple linocut printing blocks. Using these you can get creative with different patterns, repeats, layers, and arrangements, as formal or as abstract as you wish. By the end of the day, you will have created a range of samples and your own personal tote bag. The printing inks we use are colourfast and washable.

What's included in the price?

- The workshop will take place in a light filled, open studio, next to an inspirational gallery space. - All materials and equipment, and a cotton tote bag will be provided. - There is a cafe on site offering a range of hot and cold drinks, snacks, homemade cakes and a lunch menu. All workshop participants are offered a 10% discount in the cafe on the day of the workshop. - You are welcome to bring your own packed lunch. If you have a particular theme or images you would like to work from please bring them along – your own drawings, photographs or magazine cuttings are all good source materials, but don’t worry if you haven’t got anything, there will be imagery to choose from. - Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messy and/or an apron.

I aim to provide relaxed, friendly and fun workshops combining my experience from fashion/textiles printing and many years teaching GCSE and A level students in their Fine Art and Textile studies. It's all about exploring possibilities with colour, shape, layers, pattern and textures - which I love to do within my own work, creating a range of prints and collages on paper, fabric and cards.
