Indian Ink Block Printing Workshop

Festive deer and star napkin printed in coral, midnight blue and silver.

Robin, holly and stars for a festive napkin to complement the others in the set. The robin has two paint colours applied to the one block to create the look.

Navy napkin - using one ink block being used multiple times with navy paint.

Coral napkin - using one ink block being used multiple times with coral paint.

Thistle tea towel design using one ink block with two colours.

Jumping and sitting hares with bees and flowers, using multiple blocks all with a single colour.

Meadow scene tea towel, with beehive, bees, and flowers.

I love the cheerful cherry block, it's a dream to print with and is just fun with a little nod to the 50's

I made the set so everyone will know which is theirs when coming back to the table. So a simple trio in the corner was perfect.

I love this set of napkins for the summer. I used a lovely rich red and green for this print. The technique is random which is easier than it sounds!

Sometimes less is more! I love the one little set in the corner.

This is a more advanced technique where three blocks are used each with a different colour and then printed one after the other to create the design. This would be taught on an advanced class.

Description

Come and join us for a fun three hours of Indian Ink Block Printing. This is perfect for beginners as well as those wishing to develop their printing skills. Still available to print are small and large stockings, drawstring gift bags as well as the list below. You can choose 1 large item, i.e. cushion cover, tea towel, 2x napkins, or tote bag; and 1 small item, i.e. zip pouch, oven glove, or pot stand. Cost is £55 per person spaces are limited to 12 people.

What's included in the price?

Each person can choose from one large blank fabric item and one small blank fabric item. All paints and ink blocks will be provided, as well as an apron to wear over your clothes.

We are passionate about fabric, printing, home decor and accessories as well as up-cycling items, reusing, and finding new purposes for items in and outside the home. This has taken us to Paris and the wonderful markets there to find items as well as inspiration for projects. Elle also loves to sew and embroider items too.
