About the Course
Design and make your very own felt bag or felted panel. It may be a handbag or iPad case - or something else - you decide. Aimed at the beginner, you'll find wet-felting a wonderfully versatile craft and a fascinating process. With plenty of materials to hand you'll be able to let your imagination run free - and leave ready to embark on your next felt creation!
With years in the animation industry, making sets and models for the Aardman films there's not much Cathy hasn't turned her hand to. You'll find her a hugely enthusiastic and encouraging teacher! The newly restored Tanyard Studio sits in a beautiful cottage garden, surrounded by fields - an inspiring place to work. Small classes of up to 4 people mean you'll get all the help you need.
Please get in touch if you cannot make this date and we will try to arrange another session.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

I've just done a course at Tan yard studio with Cathy and am now the proud owner of a pair of lovely warm multicoloured felt slippers.
I am not a very 'crafty' person at all, so my pride at having made something so beautiful and useful is palpable!
The location is beautiful and I had a great time with two others in the converted barn with the log burner on and lots of coffee and cake. The vegetarian lunch was delicious and all home made. Highly recommended for a great day out.

I've just spent a wonderful relaxing day with two friends on Cathy's felting course and am now the proud owner of a very beautiful and unique hat!
Tanyard Studio is in a charming setting and the studio itself is beautiful, full of examples of what can be achieved on one of the courses that they run as well as all the raw materials bursting out of wooden boxes on the shelves around the studio.
Lunch was delicious, all homemade (including the bread!) and hot drinks and cake offered throughout the day. Cathy was on hand every step of the way to guide us but making sure we did everything ourselves so that we could be suitably proud of our finished product. Get your friends together and book a course - you won't be disappointed!
