I have just completed a three day course at Laura's wonderful studio. I learnt how to give glassware a truly professional finish, make freeform moulds and how to manage the different firings to give different results. She encouraged me to be as imaginative as I wanted to be and after explaining what to do she left me to it. That is exactly the way I prefer to learn and Laura understood that without being told. It is that level of intuition that makes for a really good teacher. And she is. I came away with a lot of technical knowledge about the way glass behaves in different hot and cold forms, which I can now take forward into something of my own.

Response from Hart Glass:Hi Linda,
I had a really exciting and interesting weekend with Laura. The studio is bright and light and very comfortable to work in. I was able to do so much over the weekend, from cutting glass, grinding, pulling glass through a flame and twisting glass. I used glass powder, fritts and strands as well as choosing from a huge range of coloured glass. Laura is patient and very clear when instructing you. I was thrilled with my end pieces. I would wholeheartedly recommend this course to anyone.

Thankyou very much Laura for a wonderful day. Something I've never thought of doing and unless a friend had invited me would never have experienced it. We were given guidance for every aspect of glass work and although I found it daunting to begin with, and had a fear of making massive mistakes, I loved every second and the time went so quickly.I was also thrilled with what I achieved in a very short time. Great lunch too. Thankyou so much for a brilliant day.

What a lovely day!
Laura's taster day ( bought by my husband as a present ) was so enjoyable.
Not ever having thought about doing anything like this I was quite nervous. There really was no need to be, as Laura soon put me at ease and is such a good teacher with so much patience that you can soon start using things you do not know anything about.
As I said what a lovely day with the bonus of an absolutely fab lunch provided by, guess who, Laura of course.

I've been on many courses and workshops, this was the best ever. It's three days full on intensive but you get quality teaching from a real professional artist who really knows her stuff. I learnt so much and my work is now finished to a much higher standard.
If you only ever do one glass fusing workshop do this one, you won't regret it.

Have just completed a 2 day fusing course, and wished I'd booked for 3 ! I thoroughly enjoyed every moment and have learnt loads. Laura is a very patient individual whose calm manner helps quieten any nerves as she shows you how to refine your work.
I have discovered the value of cold working which can only improve the quality of my work. Thanks again Laura.
I would highly recommend this course as it gives you the flexability to try your own ideas with back up when needed with the guidance of Laura.

We spent 3 brilliant days learning how to cut, grind, colour and fuse glass and made glass pendants and birds for a chandelier. Laura is an excellent teacher, very hands off allowing you to experiment but with advice at key points to ensure you get the result you are looking for. I can't wait for September to do my next project.

Laura is great. We spent 3 days with her at her studio. We turned up with no experience of glass fusing or in fact any glass work at all, Laura showed us the ropes and helped us to create all the components for a chandelier. It was great fun and Laura was very patient and knowledgeable. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend her. Thanks Laura!

An absolute novice! I spent two days with Laura and found it to be a fantastic experience. Her knowledge and enthusiasm was exhilarating and if you are considering this - just go for it.
I would rate this course as one of the best I have attended. Huge thanks x

I was given this 2 day course as a present and it has turned out to be the best I've ever had. I have a small kiln and have tried glass fusing with not much success . I have worked as a glazier and lead light maker for the last 40 years but she taught me things about glass I had not known before. Laura was a very good teacher and a good host. I would recommend her to anyone even those who have never worked glass before.

Great 3 days spent with Laura; Laura is a fab friendly, informative, helpful and encouraging tutor. A incredibly well stored workshop or an Aladdin's Cave may be a better description. I learned the basics of glass fusing, made some great pieces of fused glass, had lots interesting conversations, a few laughs and Laura's enthusiasm and guidance has ensured I will definitely take up this craft!
Many thanks to a talented lady.

Two days spent with Laura gave this complete novice an understanding of what is involved in glass fusion work. Perhaps more importantly, it gave me an appreciation of just how complex this art form is, and can be - especially when you look as some of Laura's own creations. She is a thorough, observant and patient teacher and I would recommend her course to anyone interested in working with glass. You will learn, and create, a lot!

My husband and I spent the day with Laura in her studio whilst on our honeymoon. It was a fantastic experience and we made a wonderful piece which I'm very proud of and also a great memory.

Having had no experience of glass art, I found Laura's course very well worth the money. She introduces you to a number of techniques and certainly opens your eyes to the possibilities of design and the mixing of colours. So much so that you finish the introductory course with a sense of achievement and the desire to explore the art further.
More than that, Laura is great company and a very capable tutor.

A fantastic course! Laura covers a whole variety of different techniques, and allows plenty of time to try things out. As a teacher she offers support when needed, plenty of encouragement to try new things out, and suggestions to make things even better. Whether a novice with glass, or someone with experience, you will come away having learnt loads, but also with lots of hints and tips to give your pieces a more professional look. And you begin to get an understanding of the amount of work, time and skill that goes into making the sorts of beautiful pieces Laura makes!
Overall I felt I learnt masses, in a way that I can remember and apply back home, and had a huge amount of fun along the way!

I have been on a 3 day glass making course with Laura Hart and must admit it was probably one of the best courses I have ever taken - Laura encourages and helps so effortlessly which puts you straight away at ease - To make your own glass ware is so exciting (I didn't realise glass was so versatile) So glad I took this class and will be going back to make Christmas presents :-)
Check out Laura's website and see what beautiful things she makes too

Laura is an amazing teacher, I have learnt more in two days with her than a 10 week evening class. She explains clearly and allows your creative energy to flow. I would highly recommend her glass courses. This two day course was a birthday present, one of the best. Her own work is incredible and you should check it out.

Working with Laura was an excellent experience. I had only basic knowledge of working with glass before my time with her, and through her patient guidance learn a great deal in just a short space of time. Her workshop is inspiring and her many projects on the go decorate the space wonderfully, with hidden gems of glass-work in every corner. I would highly recommend this course, and Laura!

I was lucky enough to get a slot for 3 days in Laura's studio. Being a complete beginner I found Laura's teaching fantastic! Not only did she have the patience of a saint, when I made mistakes, she guided me through each step with perfection and ease. I would highly recommend her glass course and can't wait to return again. I made a beautiful candle glow and learnt alot about cutting, kiln times, fusing and design. Hart Glass, rocks!
