Make this gorgeous zipped evening bag in a day. This workshop is suitable for people that have a little bit of sewing machine experience, don’t be scared of those zips!
Gillian is a very experienced and been quilting for thirty five years, during which time she has learnt many techniques that’s she is keen to pass on.
What you will need to bring
Your usual sewing kit
A sewing machine (or use one of ours by prior arrangement)
0.25m bag outer fabric (This should be a long/skinny quarter if you want to add the shoulder strap) 0.25m bag lining fabric
0.5m fabric for internal pockets
6” x 9” heavy weight fusible interfacing (for flap border) (eg Vilene S520) 0.5m medium weight fusible interfacing (for flap and bag body)
0.25m light weight fusible interfacing (for internal card holder)
*2 zips 10” long to match the internal pocket fabric
*Magnetic bag fastener
*2 x 10mm D rings (for optional handle)
*2 x swivel hooks (sometimes called lobster clips), 35mm x 13mm (for optional handle) Fabric Glue (either liquid or a pen) (There will be some to use if you don’t have any)
