About the Course
This is an activity that I can be run in your own home or venue for groups from 2 to 10 people.
I have moved my studio to my home which means I am unable to hold large classes. As long as you have a table and chairs for everyone to sit down and a space in the middle for me to put the glass pieces (in jars) then I can run this session for you. Advisable to have protection on the table so the table cannot get scratched. This can be provided if you would like, but please do ask.
This is a relatively easy and straight forward session for those of you who are nervous of cutting glass or as an introduction for children as well as adults. You get the chance to play around with multicoloured pieces of glass all precut and pre-fired so there are no sharp edges. Very therapeutic, relaxing and very much like colouring in. Patterns can be provided for you to copy or you can provide your own theme. One item will be made which will be either a domed or waved shape that can standalone or a wooden stand can be purchased separately.
You will be given a pre-cut square/rectangle piece of base fusing glass (transparent). You can then use any colour and any amount of fused glass pre-cut and pre-fused glass pieces to create whatever design you like. When you are happy with your creation you glue it and I fuse it in my kiln. You can either come and collect it or I will post to you (one address) which is included in the price.
Price is £45 per adult. Each additional item, if you'd like to make more, will cost an additional £5-£10.
Please note you cannot keep your item on the day as I need to take it back with me for firing and shaping which is 2-3 days depending on what is in my kiln and what commissions I am working on as they will be given priority. Once your pieces are finalised you can either come and collect or I can post to you.
You can also make this a Fused Glass Art Birthday Party, Hen Party, Community activity. You choose the theme and I make the appropriate glass canvasses i.e. unicorn, robots etc for children and adults sizes for waved or dome standalone panels, tea light candleholders, and/or hanging panel for the attendees to decorate.
Birthday child's Parent(s)/Guardian must be in attendance throughout the party.

I took my 2 grandchildren of 10 & 12 years along and I wanted to have a go myself. As there was only one other child at the session I was able to try it out too. It was brilliant. Because it didn't involve cutting, but using a whole range of colours and shapes and sizes of glass it wasn't too stressful, and you could play around with shapes, colours and designs. We all thoroughly enjoyed it, and would go again. It was also very reasonably priced.

Response from Art of Glass Studio Ltd:Thank you Liz for your wonderful review. I am so glad you all had a great time.
I was looking for a glass crafting activity for a reasonable price and came across this glass fusion experience online. I contacted Ros who responded very promptly and arranged a session for myself and my teenage boy. I had never done glass fusion before and it was great fun and even my teenage boy was kept incredibly entertained, with his imagination in full force especially after finding a glass piece the shape of a mustache (a child's imagination is amazing!). Ros was really friendly and accommodating, and guided us whenever we needed assistance. I would definitely recommend this experience as it is great value for money, very friendly and helpful atmosphere, great fun and you get a wonderful product at the end.

I telephoned Ros to discuss running this course for my Mother who has Parkinson's disease and dementia, to see if this would be possible for her to do. She talked me through what would be required and what could be made and we decided to let my mother make something. She came to my Mother's house and brought all the materials required and various boxes of coloured glass pieces. She made a couple of suncatchers with Ros's assistance. She was very patient and understanding and helped my mother when she had difficulties. The items my mother made were taken back to Ros's studio and she delivered them about a week later.
I was very pleased how this turned out for my Mother as she has little confidence in having a go at many things due to health reasons. I will definitely be arranging for my mother to do this again.
Thank you so much Ros.
My apologies I've put this on the right page now, but it was on the beginners' fused glass - sorry!

I have had a wonderful time creating my own very unique pieces of Art in Glass under the excellent guidance and instruction from Ros Duffy. Nothing is too much trouble with Ros and she soon puts you at your ease and encourages you to " just go for it!"

I booked the Art of glass studio for my son's 9th birthday party. It was such a brilliant party! The children were able to use glass and glass paints to make there own master piece ( which they all created beautiful work) Ros was a great host and very professional. They all designed 1 piece of glass and were given party bags at the end with a star shaped glass pieces for that extra special touch. My 9year old and his friends thought the party was great fun and would love to have another go.

I booked my 2 children in to design and make a sun catcher one afternoon at Art of glass studio. My boys had a fantastic afternoon! They got to use all different colours and shapes of the glass and now have their sun catcher hanging in their bedrooms. would highly recommend and book an afternoon again ( for me next time to have a go)
