Glass Fusing Full Day Introduction For One

This is a full day intensive course to give you an introduction to glass fusing. This is a one to one course, you will not be part of a group. If you would like to bring a friend see our other listings for 2 person classes with a discount. All aspects of fusing for beginners will be covered, tools & equipment, health & safety, kilns, types of glass etc followed by demonstration and practice of cutting and shaping glass. Afterwards you will make your choice of jewellery pendants, Christmas decorations, coasters etc, as many as time allows. These will then be fused in our kilns overnight and posted to you the next day once annealed and cooled. At the end of the course you will have made at least one item, be familiar with the required tools & equipment and how to use them safely. We aim to run the course 10am - 5:30pm with a break for light refreshments but times are flexible around your needs. Ruth and Andy Harrison are full time, self-taught lampwork and fused glass artists with over 15 years of experience based in Burton-On-Trent. We discovered lampworking and then fusing almost by accident, it was a hobby for a little while before quickly becoming a full time job, and obsession.
