I'd been interested in learning to glass paint for a while and found this course during lockdown. I attended the course as soon as the restrictions were lifted. Brian's keen attention to the social distancing protocols meant that I felt safe to spend the day in the chapel — a light, airy and well equipped space, perfect for the class. Brian has a relaxed, patient and informative teaching style and I would highly recommend a day in the chapel studio to create some amazing pieces of art. I now feel confident to have a go at scraffito glass painting myself and plan to go back to the chapel for another course soon.
Brian is an excellent tutor and his studio is a beautiful and inspiring setting for learning. The course is ideal for anyone - Brian demonstrates the techniques very clearly so that you can produce your own pieces of work with confidence. I had no previous experience of sgraffito or glass painting and thoroughly enjoyed the whole day and was very pleased with the pieces I made. Thanks to Brian I now feel I can experiment with the techniques and make progress on my own. I would highly recommended this course to anyone interested in creating beautiful effects with glass.
A fabulous day with a skilled and welcoming instructor. The studio is lovely and plenty of creative space. Brian shares his knowledge and opens a wealth of possibilities beyond the project, which was fun, comprehensive, and satisfying but also absolutely suitable for all levels of experience.
Very enjoyable and educational day spent with Brian. Brian is generous with his wealth knowledge in all areas of glass and it was inspiring working in his lovely studio. It was great to learn a new technique and thoroughly please with my boat. Can't wait for my finish boat to arrive after firing.
Brian is one in a million. Patient, creative, giving you space to experiment but knowing you have an expert tutor on hand. I learnt so much and have so many creative ideas rushing around my head, I will just have to go back to do more glasswork. Brian is thoughtful and helps you push your thinking on and allows you to try different things; all in a day! Wonderful!
Brilliant day. Very inspired by the tutor. I went with my dad and Bryan was able adapt to each other's experience. Really recommend the course.
I thoroughly recommend taking a course at North Wales creative glass studios. Brian is a very knowledgeable, generous and kind teacher. The course I took has really taken my glass making to a new level, particularly my mould making. I'd recommend either someone who works in glass or complete beginner's to take a course here, you'll learn loads and have a lot of fun.
I would highly recommend a course here with Brian.
Great day, learnt so much will be booking again shortly.
It's great to be taught by someone so talented and passionate in what they do.
Fantastic studio.
I really wanted to learn scraffito... I am also a lino cutter and doodler... and this fitted the bill exactly... everything was explained clearly and I even learnt how to make the little boat to stand the sail in... so I felt that I had learned a great deal... not only did I come away with a beautiful little boat... I also now have lots of new knowledge that I can apply to other bits of my glass making. Thank you Brian. I thoroughly recommend the course.
