Kiln firing of your work
I am a Secondary school teacher in school in Staffordshire. I came with a specific plan to learn how to use kilns , prgramme them, teach pupils glass techniques safely and find out costs of materials and where to purchase them.
This course exceeded my expectations. Money well spent with an exceedingly knowledgable teacher. a wonderful day.

My 18 year old daughter has just been on a one to one course with Jenny at the cheshire school of glass. She had a wonderful time designing and making. Jenny has taught at Art colleges for many years so understands the creative education system and is great with teenagers. Sophie is doing her A-levels at the moment , she benefited so much from Jenny teaching her we have booked another day. The course was catered specifically with Sophie's A-level project in mind so the work can be affiliated in to her course work. A brilliant experience. Sophie came away buzzing with enthusiasm.

This was an excellent experience. I would go again. I have a kiln already and work with glass, but Jennifer taught me so much. I can't say enough good thing about the teaching and whole experience. As other reviews have said... well worth the money.

This was a really great course. If I can afford to I will do it again. It was information overload! worth every penny. I came away with so much knowledge and ability after such a short space of time. I've just purchased my kiln , so I'm all set to go. I couldn't have done it without Jenny Barker's help at Cheshire school of Glass.

I have learnt more than I ever expected. Jenny is one of the only tutors in glass who is willing to really tell you how to start up in glass. She is generous and open with knowledge. I have been to other glass schools around the country and found Cheshire School of Glass to be in a different league in every way.

An excellent course with a wonderful , knowlegable tutor. Jenny gives 100 %. You come away with a vast amout of work and so many ideas. I have bought a kiln and Jenny has guided me through doing everything , including picking the right kiln and what to use. Jenny made sure I understood the firing of glass thoroughly, so I didn't feel daunted when I fired it on my own. A really worthwhile experience.

This course was exceptional. Jenny is so warm and friendly, but even more importantly a true professional. If you have thought about setting up a business or just having a glass workshop Jen provides all the key information and skills to get you set up. I made a mountain of stuff as well. I thoroughly agree with a comment someone else has put...
Jen is exceptionally generous with knowledge and materials.

Jenny has taught me how to effectively set up my glass workshop. I learnt which kiln to get, what tools and materials I need, how to programme a kiln and which glasses to you - and the pros and cons of different glasses. I cannot recommend Jenny enough as a teacher. She is so generous with her knowledge and workshop. She genuinely wants you to learn as much as possible and correctly to set up successfully . I loved this course.

Jenny is the real deal. Her knowledge of glass techniques is incredible. I thought the one to one was a lot of money until I came away from an incredible day where I made and learnt so much. I now realise it was really good value for money. Jenny is easy to get on with and is welcoming and relaxed. She teaches with genuine enthusiasm and in my view, is the best glass fuser in the business. A real professional.

I researched before I went on this course, so I knew Jenny knew her stuff. I am a glass artist already, who wanted to learn more techniques and how certain things are made. We covered so much , I've come away literally bursting with ideas. I made a lot of pieces, which I'm looking forward to seeing. Jenny certainly knows her stuff. I was really impressed.

I have recently attended a one to one with cheshire school of glass for two days. I came with a specific goal in mind and left with much more! Fantastic experience with a highly knowlegable person. Good value for money.

I specifically wanted to learn how to make large thick float panels for architecture, with particular reference to how to create texture. Jenny taught me above and beyond what I envisaged I could learn in two days. It was intensive and I have come away wth an exercise book full of notes. Jenny is a very knowledgeable and I would highly recommend her courses to both glass artists and novices.
Mel Keeling - - #16053
I would class myself as an experienced glass artist, but Jen has brought many new techniques to the table and answered all of my recurring niggles; she really knows her stuff.
As an added bonus, the course is dog friendly. I would recommend Cheshire School of Glass to anyone; no matter how experienced you think you are!
